Need help improving quality of new hub... again

On Tuesday, I posted a new and original hub. I've gotten the duplicate message and revised it twice. Then I've gotten the not featured-quality symbol (this have been the second time I've gotten it in two months), though it now has a score of 60 and 16 people have viewed it. I keep getting the same symbol, since I've edited the text capsules and written it under my own words, revised the subject headers and main hub title, rearranged the hubs and added a poll. I've only have 3 Amazon capsules, too. What gives? It's at a little over 900 words. Any ideas to make it better this weekend? I'm at a loss and have been to the learning center twice.  :-(

As you know, you can't post a link to the Hub here, but you CAN post it in the "Improving Your Hub" section, so I suggest asking the same question there and posting a link, then we can be more helpful:

One thing I notice is that you don't use any photos or videos at all in your Hubs.  That may be the problem, because Hubpages wants Hubs to look like the pages of a quality magazine - and most magazines don't just publish long tracts of text.

I wrote a  Hub on how to use photos in your Hubs - you'll find it in the slider on my profile.  I suggest you read it carefully and try adding some photos to your Hubs, it could make all the difference.

Also just checking - I know this Hub is your own original work, but have you published the same article anywhere else online?   You can't post duplicate content here, even if the original belongs to you.   If you deleted the original recently, it may still be triggering the duplicate filter - you have to give it a few weeks to disappear completely.

I went to the forums, but I got a message that I can't post the same forum message twice though. I would have to rewrite it.

To avoid any originality issues, you can scan your work using Smallseotools' plagiarism checker. It's free to use but they limit the number of times that you can use it per single day.
Check all your text from the meta description down, but exclude the sub-headings.

Thanks for the tips. I hope this works. I'm having a Twitter friend who's also on HP help me out.

Have you checked the keyword density?  It's a long shot though.

Perhaps it hasn't been through QAP yet, due to it being a holiday weekend?

Have you got more than two links to any one site?   That is sometimes a problem.
Other than that, can't think of anything to say to help, unless to QAP it still looks as if there is some duplication there.

No I haven't checked the keyword density. It has been to QAP many times. It goes to pending and then back to NFQ.  Only one link I mentioned in one grap. I've rewritten it in my own words to avoid duplication, though there's no duplication message above the hub.

Thanks for getting back to me Marisa. I don't have any photos, since I don't have my own camera, except for one from my computer.  Do you know any places with free photos I can go to? I don't have any videos either, unless I go to Youtube.  I haven't published it anywhere else online. I'll check out that forum.

There are free photos on Photobucket or if you Google "Wikimedia Commons Images" and enter a subject into the search box, most of the time some images will come up. Click on one you like, then select "use this file" and read the copyright section below the picture. If it says free to share, then you can use it. Be sure to give credit to the photographer in the source section of your photo capsule.
      Hope this helps.

Go to my profile, click through the Hubs on the slider, and find the one about How to Use Flickr Photos.  It will tell you everything you need to know about using photos from anywhere.

You can use Flickr photos BUT only some of them, and you must give the photographer credit, so it's important to study the Hub carefully to make sure you do it right.  DO NOT use Photobucket because a lot of the photos there are stolen.  You can use Wikimedia Commons and Morguefile but you still have to follow the instructions to credit the photographer, which I explain on my Hub.

Youtube is exactly where you should go to get videos.  You can use any videos which allow you to click the "Share" button, and you don't have to worry about crediting the owner.

Aww I see. I've used a free Photobucket photo for my newest hub. Oh well.  I'll keep Youtube in mind for videos for future hubs and to update my oldest hubs. I never heard of Morguefile before.  I'll check out your hub tomorrow.

Also check Pixabay and MorgueFiles for images that are free to use.
