I have said similar things in the past. I usually express it in these terms:

"We are all nothing more than pawns in a cosmic game of chess."

I agree. To think we are the highest intellect in the universe is hubris.

To think we are the highest intellect here is also hubris.

        Therefore...

You already know what I think... I believe there is one hope. Without this hope, I don't think I could face the difficulties life throws at us. There are some here now who are facing days so dark, they must feel like the pain will never end. I've talked to them. I know their pain is overwhelming, but God's mercies are new every morning. Each day offers a new chance to start over and do things differently. You know what? I'm reading this book right now that I bet you would actually love. It's about changing our stories. <3

One time rats exceeded humans as the largest populated manmal on earth.
So much so that half of Europe in
            the middle ages
            were wiped out
            by the plaque
            related to over rat population.

Man experimended on rats to see why
            their survival rate
            was so great.
            They found their
            behavior living
            were similar to
            humans. When
            over crowded
            rats would kill
            more often.
,steal, act more criminal in general. Mother
            would love and
            care less for their young.

            Yeh! Folks welcome to the

Is that why you think god is watching?  Because you "like to think" so?

                  What would be "sufficient?"
Seeing God standing there in front of you and then telling everyone, "Here He is!" ?
What if God were more subtle, manifesting in some other way than a tangible, limited form?

You also have an expectation, wilderness.

  13. Kathryn L Hill profile image78
Kathryn L Hillposted 9 years ago

Of course, I think there is an entity because I imagine there is. It is a very powerful urge that some of us have: to believe there is a watching entity.
I wonder if it is a universal urge.
Are some prone to it and others not?
Based on what do you suppose?
    Childhood conditioning?
Suggestions from church… handed down from the days of Jesus?
And before that God had a heck of a time trying to get mankind to stop worshipping idols and other gods… which of course they merely imagined to be real.
So you have asked a very profound question.
The answer might be better offered by others.

The baby was instructed upon the ways of the world and nothing else.
What hope was there for this person when he grew to be an adult?
There is so much to discuss, but one has to want to know the truth of the matter. Until that time it will seem like God doesn't care and that we are all lab rats, when the opposite is true.
What actually went wrong in the Garden of Eden?
            That is the real question.

  16. paradigmsearch profile image60
    paradigmsearchposted 9 years ago

    Meanwhile, W, you there?

  17. Kathryn L Hill profile image78
Kathryn L Hillposted 9 years ago

Sometimes, I wonder if childhood is not the Garden of Eden.
Then the hormones of teenager-hood take us out of this garden.

For instance, I remember seeing images that were not really there, like beautiful green hedges with butterflies and flowers all over them.
I told my mother what I saw and she did't know what I was talking about. It was not my imagination. I believe I saw beyond this world as a child.

  18. Kathryn L Hill profile image78
Kathryn L Hillposted 9 years ago

How can children be so happy? They are infused with a joy of life. They bounce back from disappointments and bad situations and love their parents even when the parents are abusive.
They are born kind and empathetic and with great potential for happiness.
I remember standing so still for a very long time waiting for a butterfly to land on my hand containing sugar water. I don't remember If one ever did, but talk about patience! Children are not naturally restless. They are calm and open when allowed to be.
They actually have a natural propensity to believe in God.
What if we taught them to confer with God consciously through intuition?
They could find him… God would communicate with them and guide them…
      towards what?
I believe someday we will know.
    Thats all.
Meanwhile we just have to be patient with ourselves and each other...
    and our ignorance.
Which explains why I said, "God cares."
    Thanks for the topic, Paradigmsearch.

Does the Experimenter know how to save us ?
    No.
    But our Creator does.
    Our Creator has a plan.
He knows how to bring us back into the realm of Spirit from whence we originated.
All we gave to do is pay attention to spiritual matters.
The Lords Prayer gives a good hint.
