Why would two hubs go from featured to not featured?  I didn't make any sort of major changes to them.  One has been featured since this summer and gets a decent amount of views.

Thank you.  It really doesn't make sense.

If you didn't make any changes to them, then it's likely to be lack of engagement.

I wrote a Hub about Featured vs unFeatured, why it happens and what to do about it. You'll find it in the slider on my profile.

Thank you, Marisa.  The one about scalp lightener was first page on Google and had about 18 views a day.  Not a lot, but better than my other Hubs a day.  I'll look in your profile.  It's just odd that I wrote it last year and suddenly someone has a problem with it.

I looked at your Hub and see spammy elements including unrelated links.

Can you please point me in the direction in relation to what is spammy?  Is it a link in my bio or the amazon capsules?  If I test a lot of beauty products, there will no doubt be more than one capsule at the end of a post.  Thank you.

If you're putting all your Amazon products at the end of the Hub, that's a mistake right there.

Firstly, Amazon capsules at the END of a Hub don't usually make sales, so you're hurting yourself.  Amazon capsules sell ONLY when each one is placed right next to the text which refers to it.  So split them up, next to the text where you first mention that product.

Secondly, you need to be very discerning about your choice of Amazon capsules. If a product is not directly related to the subject of the Hub, it will be regarded as "spammy".

Thank you!! I always thought the Amazon products had to go at the end of a post.  Like my on scalp lightener post, I recommend two to readers.  So I deleted one and now the post was approved.  But I still want readers to know they can purchase the other one as well as it's just as lovely for on scalp.

You can still include two products.  Just don't list them together.

If you write about two different products, then make each discussion a separate text capsule.  Then put a single Amazon capsule underneath the relevant discussion.

By the way, it's "illegal" to include a bio of yourself in your Hubs.

Marisa, Can you provide the source for that information?  Simone had told met hat it was permissible, but I know that would make it old news. I'm sure that putting links to your website or even to a profile would not be acceptable, and you would have to worry about duplicate content, but is simply writing a bio not allowed?

Interesting that Simone told you it was allowed.   I recall a thread where someone had Hubs unpublished for self-promoting within a Hub. It fits in with the rule all the content of the Hub must be about the topic, not about something or somebody else.

My guess is that there isn't a blanket rule against bios.  It would depend on the bio, based on the new rules. If the bio is used to show authority on the subject of the hub, it would make sense, but if it was simply to promote the author or links, then it wouldn't.

i have 12 hubs went unfeatured at a short time. Take a look at the warning signs located at the top. Either broken links-remove them, too many ads-remove them, thrird party links-remove them, lack of traffic-share url link at share media provided by HP; twitter etc

I believe that you should have received an email. Go to page where list o hubs are to see if any symbols are there with the hubs that were unfeatured.  HP will unfeature for almost anything they consider to be low quality, right to use images, overly promotional, etc.

Thank you, Linda.  I received 2 emails about 2 different Hubs.  But they are so vague that I would have no idea what to change.

Please follow the instruction included in the message.

Again, the instructions are so vague it could mean a million things.  I do believe I figured it out.  The more readers a Hub receives, the less they like a backlink to something else. So once it inches towards 80, they are much pickier concerning backlinks.

Hi all! i'm new to hubpages. just wondering you mention putting amazon capsule next to text. i'm not sure how to do that could you enlighten me

    1. Marisa Wright profile image85
Marisa Wrightposted 9 years agoin reply to this

Split your text up into several text capsules, not just one.  Then you'll find you can put Amazon capsules in between the text capsules.  You'll then find you have the choice to "float right" your Amazon capsules (the green arrow).   Though directly under the related paragraph is just as good.

This blog post may also help you figure out what is considered spammy or over-promotional.

It simply means that your hubs have gone down in quality, even minor deletes or additions counts so revert your changes and see if it goes up except one 3 out of four of my hubs are featured. Also write in details.
