Anyone else see a huge surge in earnings today, or is it a glitch?

Without being specific, my earnings increased tenfold, overnight. Is that a glitch in the system, or is everyone seeing that?

It certainly looks like a glitch to me, but thought I would find out first, if that is happening to other Hubbers.

I don't know. Will see if I can track down what caused it.

Because my hubs are monitored, I edited few yesterday which went unpublished for about 24 hours but now featured. So, I cannot say much on whether the earnings increased ten folds or not.

If that happens again today, update here and I will say something. I pray it starts happening for us to earn more money.

This is exactly the sort of scenario where having Google Analytics can be extremely useful.  But if you don't, well...then you don't have all that detailed data to look at.

It has been my experience that when there is a big jump in money overnight, one or more products have shipped.

MY CPM was higher yesterday than it has been all week, but no massive increase, no.  Can you pinpoint what it is? Traffic?  CPM? Amazon or Ebay sale?

I cannot tell. At the moment, we are getting our retail business open, so I don't have time to investigate, but shall do so shortly.

I just investigated. It appears to be from an eBay sale. Hope it sticks!

Thanks for the reply, Jodah. I was sort of hoping it was site-wide. That would have been nice.

Top Ghost writer. I hope you are not representing 'Real Writing Jobs' as your link suggests, since they are noted on Google as being a scam. Are You?

Looks like that post is gone. I saw it, and hit the "report" button.

I'm guessing you had a major spike in traffic or you made some ebay or amazon sales. The ebay and amazon reports (under Earnings in My Account) will tell you about ebay and amzon sales. Google Analytics is definitely a good resource for seeing if you are having a traffic surge.

Edit: If you happen to use Google Analytics, go to your Hubpages account when you sign in; then on the the left side bar, click on Acquisition; click on Source/Medium on the drop down that comes under Acquisition; here you can see sources (like Google, referral, etc); you can also see Landing Pages, Keywords, etc. Landing Pages is under Other along the top of the graph, right next to Keywords.

Also under Acquisition is Social; click on that and then on the drop down click on Network Referrals; this will tell you if you suddenly got a lot of social media shares.

You can adjust the date in the upper right hand corner, if you want to focus on a specific day.

Thanks, Nate. It was due to ebay sales.

Cool. I've had that happen. It's a nice surprise when it does.

No increase for me at all; in fact, I dropped by about 12 cents, and considering that my daily earnings are (without being too specific) normally less than 50 cents, that's a pretty significant drop.

DzyMsLizzy, that is terrible - the drop, I mean!

Yes, I thought so, too, Shades-of-truth!  I guess that I just don't write on topics people want to know about.
I have zero interest in pimping products or discussing celebrity gossip or inane "reality" TV shows, and those seem to be the popular topics.
I don't do a lot of recipes, as I'm thinking of writing a cookbook of family recipes, so that's out.
And I guess the 'how to' articles I do write are, again, not things most folks want to know how to do.
It usually takes me at least a quarter of the year to reach payout, and the way my earnings have been going lately, I'll be lucky to see twice a year!
        Sigh.

Almost fell off my chair laughing on that one. Nope, traffic is lower than low since my articles were transferred in from Squidoo.

Well, Lorelei, we are still new here - those of us who came from Squidoo, I mean. Perhaps we just need seasoning.

Make mine garlic. That won't bring readers to my hubs, but it'll keep me healthy!
