Duplicate content on Hub effect SEO?

   If you lift your blog from your website and copy and paste onto Hubpages will this effect your ranking on Google? For instance will it not just be classed as duplicate content and lower your websites rankings on Google?

      Probably.   As others have said, it's not allowed anyway - but in general, the rule is:   NEVER post the same article on two sites. 
      
      The reason is that it's pointless and is only wasting your time.  It can even backfire.   
      
      When you post the same article on two sites, Google chooses one and ignores the other.   In theory, Google should choose the original, but it doesn't always get it right. 
      
      Say, for instance, that you had an article on your blog which was getting good traffic.  You decide to post a copy on Wizzley. 
      
      Google [i[should[/i] send traffic to the blog article and ignore the Wizzley version (which means posting it on Wizzley was a complete waste of time and effort!).   However, because Wizzley is a much bigger site, Google may decide it has more "authority" than your blog - so it will start sending the traffic to Wizzley and ignore the version on your blog - which means your blog loses traffic.

   Josh: You don't want duplicate content regardless if it is on HP, Wizzley, or your own site, etc.  To use content from a blog, you need to delete it, then use Google URL removal tool and wait for Google to remove from their search engines. Use copyscape to see if it is still found on Internet due to the other search engines out there.
   
   Another thing about moving content is that your article will not keep it's search engine rankings.  It will be as though it is brand new content.  In other words, if Article is on page 7 of Google search engnine, and you move it; that article will no longer be on Page 7.  It may take months or longer for it to have a decent rank with Google search engine.
   
   Actually, IMO, you are better off leaving your content and adding new content on your own site.  If you want to publish on HP, you can always create new articles surrounding your article topics from your blog.  You can always link your article from your blog to your HP article if it is closely related.   Or, you can simply do something like Related Articles, More Information and then create a title with text link to your other articles and maybe add a snippet with title.
