Over night I went from a 73, which I admit isn't very high, to a 49. Also, I have 80 hubs. All but 3 where featured. Today 63 of my hubs have been unfeatured. What's wrong with this picture?

I still saw your hubs in your profile, so I guess they are still featured. I read two of them, and I noticed that they are short and have a number of links. Please read around the forums as these are the types of hubs that HP wants to clean up.

i agree with the others, your hub is way too short , at least 700 words excluding the links. And you put in exterlink links-2 sites. Try using internal links.

No need for speculations like the ones below.  The way hub score is calculated was changed.  With a lower hubscore a higher amount of traffic is needed to stay featured.  If the unfeatured hubs have the "low traffic" symbol that fully explains what happened.  After all, your hubs did not suddenly get shorter last week, did they?

What does it say on your dashboard about the hubs being unfeatured?
    Go to http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/stats
Look for the box: -select a designation-
You will see options to check if hubs are Not Featured for Traffic or Quality.

I was on my way to bed last night when I posted the above. I didn't take the time to look at any of your hubs, so it looks like I was out in left field after reading the OP on this thread.

One thing I would like to say is that Hubbers and HubPages are trying to save this site from taking another beating next month when Panda rolls out once again. If hubs are not up to standard they need to be defeatured until they can pass QAP again. Best wishes to you.

Check for things like unrelated links, too many Amazon capsules for the ratio to content (you need at least 100 words of text for each capsule), or things like multiple links to one site. You can go in and edit things and help bring your account back to where you want it to be.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with my Hubs, HubPages is totally screwed up.

You do realize that simply copying a recipe from other web sites isn't exactly what HP is looking for in hubs?  That indiscriminately grabbing photos from other sites is illegal?  That plagiarizing other sites is also illegal?

(do a google search for: "Eating a morning meal is a healthy habit if you're watching your weight. Research shows that regular breakfast eaters tend to be leaner and dieters are more successful at ", from your hub breakfast all day long - it is found on at least 8 other websites.)

You need to seriously study the learning center to learn what a hub should be and more importantly what is legal to copy from the web and what is not (hardly anything is legal to copy)

I also found content that is on your hubs that appears elsewhere, attributed to dates preceding yours. That might be part of the problem.

I just found another one of your recipes, with the same photo you have used, on a site that published it in 2010. We are not supposed to do that.

The link is at coastalliving-dot-com, and has been there for years.

At any point in the seven months since you joined HubPages have you read the rules for publishing and content?

If not, chances are you need to do some reading and reworking.

Someone who comes on to the forums asking for advice because he has a problem and then takes the attitude that there is nothing wrong with his hubs has a problem bigger than lowered hub scores.  From what I have read from the other Hubbers here, you are a plagiarist who has done none of the work required to produce good articles who has gotten away with murder until the new rules caught you.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with this site...you, however, need to get your act together.  If you want to write here, be successful, make friends and earn some money, you either need to dump all of your articles and start over, or rewrite the ones you have while following all of the guidelines.  Sorry to be so blunt, but I have very little patience with people who want to blame everybody but themselves when issues arise.

I see a recipe for apple frangipane that includes only a copy-pasted list of ingredients and then sends the reader by link to the Joy of Baking website for the baking instructions!

With content like that, and some of the other copy-pasted content that others are referring to, you're lucky you have an account at all. Best remove all the copy-pasted content before you are banned for good.

As others have said, all the hubs that contain plagiarized words and photos need to be unpublished straightaway.  It's not just breaching HP's rules, it's illegal to take copyrighted material without permission.

You guys are full of it. Hubpages wants to delete me they can go ahead. The whole site is a joke.
I've never seen such a bunch of crap as is posted on hubpages in the name of writing.
I haven't plagiarized anything. I also don't copy and paste. However, talking to self proclaimed experts like you guys is a total waste of my time.

wow, I'm shocked at this blatant lack of respect for hubpages and its users. Why bother posing the question if your not willing to hear the answers? Hubpage users (most anyway) put a lot of time, effort and study into their writing.

Bobtyndall, just because you don't, that doesn't mean everyone else is writing 'A bunch of crap' too.  Being able to comprehend and follow the Hubpages rules does not make us experts, simply good hubbers who abide by the rules in the name of good writing and content!

Looks like bobby is gone. Amazing...someone asks for help, receives the help, and gets an "attitude" when the help is not what he wanted to hear.

It may not have been voluntary.  A thief drawing attention to themselves isn't in the best of positions...

      1. colorfulone profile image77
colorfuloneposted 9 years agoin reply to this

It looks voluntary to me because that user no longer exists, so the account was deleted. Seems to me when HubPages makes a decision because of violations that the Hubbers are banned from the site but their empty profile page is still there along with a note saying they are banned.

        1. wilderness profile image95
wildernessposted 9 years agoin reply to this

I think you're right - seems like a banned profile says just that.  That the user was banned.

Either way, though, it doesn't seem like much loss judging from the hubs I looked at.

Right, some people are not cut out for this kind of work because it does take some effort on our part to come up with something original.

Perhaps he decided to fix his Hubs, but I agree with you, that it was most likely voluntary.

We cannot just act wantonly as if we own the planet. There are rules everywhere --- on how to live our life and how to write for HubPages. We need to abide by the rules: if not, we get booted out. Reality bites. big_smile
