Fornication to many Christians believe that fornication means premarital sex and the dictionary would agree with them. The problem with the definition in the dictionary is that it is the modern Judeo-Christian  definition. It does not reflect the original definition that was known at the times the various books of the bible were written. Fornication in Greek translates to done under the Archway. In ancient times prostitutes would gather under the archways(Greek: fornix) in a city. So the true definition is to have sex with prostitutes. Therefore premarital sex is not fornication unless it is with prostitutes.

Are you referencing the original word, πορνεία, ας, ἡ?

I do not believe you are referring to the original word, πορνεία, ας, ἡ.

The Latin words Fornix (archway) and Fornicatio (done in the archway).  “Fornication” is actually the English version of those two words. It maybe referring to the Archways in ancient Rome and prostitutes' place of business.

It doesn't matter. If we went by the laws in the Bible, we'd all be burning witches. Maybe it's time to put that book to rest.

That's great, now all you have to do is concoct another definition for the other words that God condemns sexual immorality with; like chastity, virtue, virginity, adultery, and lust.

Regardless of what the actual definitions are, any Christian who cares enough to complain/attempt to stop premartial sex probably already views the woman as a whore/prostitute even if they aren't.

Even still...who the hell can take that seriously with all the child rape?
