I just realized that my page views have dropped 37% since Sunday.  Anybody else seeing this?  Do you think Panda has finally caught up with us?  Summer is my biggest earning time, so this is not good.

I'm not sure what's happening but it seems like others have been experiencing the same. I have noticed this too lately and also in recent past and I wonder if it's something through HubPages or if each of us are just not of us as active we used to be. How are you checking your stats? Are you checking your stats daily or weekly?

Should we be doing something to try to remedy this other then whatever we're currently doing to optimize our hubs, and and using social networking?

There's only so much time in a day for us to devote to promoting our hubs, and I was actually hoping that traffic would increase soon, without us having to spend a ton of time.

    Thoughts?

I'm not sure, but if this is widespread, it may be that the recent Panda update has hit HP.  If that isn't it, I don't know what to tell you to do rather than just give it some time.

In my case, most of my views come in the late spring and last until August due to my niche topic.  Last year, right at the end of August, I lost 90%!  I went crazy trying to fix what was wrong, revamped my site, etc.

Finally, views started picking up again..but...here we are gain in August, and I'm seeing a drop.  I hope this isn't a repeat of last year, but if it is, I now know what to do...nothing!

Mine, too, have been getting grimmer and grimmer. However, instead of breaking out the hemlock, I've decided to wait and see how things are doing after Labor Day.

After much pained discussion with others who have been around far longer than I, I have decided that the path of wisdom for me is to just write because I like writing.

Edit and improve articles, yes, if I feel like it.

Otherwise, I shall ignore the stats and just do what I do.  I has become abundantly clear that writing online is no money-making venture any more, so I am giving up on ever getting more than pocket change.

As much as I detest the expression so popular today, which seems like a brush-off, the reality is that "It is what it is."

My views here have increased, but the panda slapped one of my personal websites.  I am assuming it's because I need to modernize it and so now I begin the painstaking, monotonous task of converting a 500 page site to WordPress so it can be generic looking like every other website, but cross platform friendly.  Time to cross my fingers and hope for the best.  My AdSense earnings have tanked $200 per month in just 2 months.. It's hard to stay motivated sometimes - but I refuse to be beaten and I will just chalk it up to another one of those things, pick up and carry on.

Traffic around here should increase for most once Summer is over (at least that's the usual trend)  In a lot of areas, this is the last bit of time before schools start up again etc.  and people are busy - that could be the reason for traffic decreases for some here.  My increases here have been social media shares though because Pinterest rocks and Google sucks.  Google Sucks a lot!

Did I mention Google sucks? wink  you can see where my sentiments are lately... lol.

And for all this alleged improvement Google says it's making; I've noticed that the search results I pull up there routinely fail to impress me and I find myself finding more stuff myself via social media and other search engines... hmmmm.

I know you earn your living (or at least part of it) doing all of this, so it is worse for you than it is for me when things go sideways.

Nonetheless, it is disheartening to work so hard and in one fell swoop your work gets downgraded.

You'll do OK and so will I, but all of it pretty much sucks.

Sure wish Pinterest worked as well for me as it does for you!

...and then there's the new "home page" people see when they come to HubPages.  Just saying.

From what I have seen, three illegal sites have stolen much of our content.  If this is the case, that may be why views are dropping.

Views seem to be on the up, in spite of having a lot of content stolen recently.  It would be really nice if HubPages staff could step in especially when it is a whole site copying all of our content.  Surely one complaint to google from them would have the whole site removed in an instant.

Maybe your own views are up, but they are dropping for me and others since last week.  Seeing lots of blue arrows today.

Stolen hubs is not only frustrating, but down right unfair.  I've written to the sites and the DMCA and still no results.

And down goes my traffic. It was actually doing relatively well this weekend but sharply dropped today, nothing but blue arrows all around.

This has been my best month since arriving in January both traffic and earnings wise but with every two steps forward, I go one step back.

I think it's pretty much the same for most writers here.  After posting this last week, yesterday I had one of the highest page views day I have had in months.  Go figure.  Today, it will be back down in the dirt!

I've been here for four years, and traditionally it is much slower in summer. People go on vacations, or just spend more time outdoors.

Well, took another peek at Analytics. It's not pretty, but it's not an outright disaster either.
