God is a nice concept. But in reality? When did anyone see, or touch God? But it's also quite an intriguing fact that many people do find the concept of God interesting, and worthy. Perhaps they are just collectively deluded. I like the way of Tom Cruise. Be in the middle.
Hmm, try to ask this question one of the psychic people, who can actually can see things and gifted since they were infants. Ask them for example, what clothes your grandma used to wear before she passed away, or why your uncle did things he did. Then you can ask about God )
It is written that God is...spirit, love, etc. Descriptors of a realm other than material or physical. There are those who say that emotions are what make us humans different from other species. We are conscious of self in relation to future. Thus could consciousness of self and emotions be evidence of a non-physical realm? And, consciousness and emotions can be measured in term of neuroactivity...other evidence? So, let there be God...in all of us. (excepting the socio-psychos, of course) Just need to keep God in God's realm and out of the supernatural business.
Or perhaps all the people who say there is no God are collectively deluded? It has to be one or the other, because there are great numbers and great minds on both sides.
I don't argue with people over God.
I just declare that God is real.
So you just want to state your personal opinion as fact and then not defend it or discuss it when it is inevitably countered? What purpose does that serve? Why participate in a discussion forum at all if you're not willing to discuss your opinions?
Lets look at it this way. There absolutely must be a creator. But is our creator a God? That we don't know. This is solid fact: What you cannot see is always more powerful than what you can see.
If you bust open a copper wire carrying 1000 volts, you can not see the voltage but it will shock the hell out of you. If Someone chops you in the groin, you can see the chop but the pain you cannot see and the pain is hell. Turn off all the lights and nothing will exist, because we cannot see it, but it is there!
Interesting perspective. Thank you for sharing. And yes, like love..
I always thought that "creator" was kind of an alternate definition of "God", at least in the Christian religion (others, not so much). At least many people use the term when referring to their God ("Our creator loves us", meaning God loves us).
But your "facts" are a little off. There is no need for a creator of this universe, and unseen things are very often less powerful than the seen. A wire carrying 1 MV, or 1000 volts for that matter, is certainly less powerful than a lightning bolt. An amoeba is less powerful than the fish that eats it. Radio waves are less powerful than blue light waves.
That something is invisible to our senses does not mean it is powerful; just that we can't detect it with our bodily senses.
a disease is more powerful than the humans it kills. And so much more.
The single bacteria of that disease is not. And so much more.
The point is that some are, some aren't. It cannot thus be used as "evidence" of a god creator.
God is not a concept. If you have not seen god then it does not mean that there is no god.

As requested from another forum post. I would like to open the thread to all of those who do not believe in God or a creator. I would like to have a logical debate of ideas. I will not relay bible versus as I am not religious. If you do not believe in a creator, what is your reason for thinking we...

Catholics Protestants think Jesus was god; rather as some say he was "god-the-father"; then the Christians say that Mary was begotten by god-the-father.It is a wrong concept; because that would makes Jesus , I take refuge with the Creator God, husband of Mary.I don't think it is a correct...

He could have done it in four or five days if He didn't insist on making most heavenly objects thirteen billion light years distant. Just showing off?

I had originally posted this as a question in the "Answers" section, but it was taken down because it "invoked a conversation rather than a Q&A.... So that's why I brought it here! I want you guys to sound off on what you think about this subject, does God exist? Why do / don't...

In the Christian faith, God is defined as follows: All Powerful, All Knowing. Good, Omnipresent, Loving, etc. etc. But when you put that definition beside the rest of Christian theology, it doesn't work. It contradicts. The Christian God cannot be All Knowing and Good and All Powerful. One of...
