   Is there anyone who has actually made money from your twitter followers? Just curious as the so called probloggers say they have.

   They usually have over 50,000 followers so yes, THEY can make money.  If you have 200 untargetted followers that are probably just friends you will have trouble monetizing them.

      Hi Badco - I know you only have a few followers for now - but your twitter follwoing will grow exponentially, it seems to reach a critical mass (for me it was at 30 followers) then just expands on a minute-by-minute basis.
      
      It is good that you only have 6 followers for now because my advice would be to be very selctive about future followers.  If you want to use Twitter to help get visitors to your hubs and sites and so boost adsense earnings you need targetted visitors. I have a number of Twitter accounts and am very careful to make sure that followers are interested in the focus of each twitter account (fibromyalgia, chocoltae, recipes etc for my hubs.
      
      My best Twiiter account is for screenwriters and I get a lot of traffic to my screenwriting site - my earnings there far outstrip any earnings here on HP as a result.  But again I was very carefult to get targetted traffic.
      
      SO - how to get that traffic?  You have written about health issues - specifically heart health - within twitter you can search for that topic 'heart health', 'stent surgery'  etc and find who is talking about that same issue. Follow them - then send them a direct message.
      
      You could extend your niche to cover health issues in men aged eg: 40 - 60 (?)  - write hubs about those issues and make your twitter account all about those issues to promote your hubs. You can join something like 'Twiatter' to set up automated tweets. I have tweets going out every 30 minutes 24 hours a day 7 days a week - all on different topics within my site and with a variety of wording to keep people interested.
      
      It takes time to set up but it is time well spent.
      
      Also, re-tweet people who are tweeting about similar topics to yourself, you will enhance your reputation over there.
      
      I hated Twitter at first - I still don't use it to send personal updates of the 'I'm fed up' or 'Time for a coffee break' kind - they are boring to your targetted readers.
      
      If you want to socialise like that, and I know it can be fun I just don't do it because it can also be a time thief, then have a separate twitter account.  With Twaiter you can log in to multiple accunts at once - which is how I manage 4 twitter accounts.

   Just a few tips
   
   We all had few followers at one point. In fact, every time I create a new twitter account is the same history. And yes, You can.. and you should create a separate twitter account for each niche you are interested in.
   
   Don't go wildly following every single twitterer... be selective, and follow only those sharing the topic of your twitter account niche.
   
   It takes time, and several boundaries have to be surpassed.... around 2000 friends you wont be able to follow any more people unless you have around 1850 people, and the numbers are different from that point onward.
   
   Just imagine, having a horde of followers interested in one particular topic, I have seen people with over 50K 100K... I don't have that many followers ... yet but I will, and you can do the same. If you provide the means, through great content in your tweets, sales are possible... Just don't send JUST affiliate links, the results may be counter-productive to your interests  and to your followers who may start to flee away from you.
   
   Right now I am making some weekly conversions just from twitter, so it is indeed possible. The secret is to have a constant increasing in your follower base. I have a few hubs in this topic, so I won't be extensive in this post. The fact is that if you are not in twitter yet... you should.

   Just a little devils advocate.
   
   If your writings and promotions are strictly within one niche, sure go that extra mile and only get targetted followers.
   
   But as they are most likely not,and many of your followers have only a slim chance of ever seeing your tweet when they have large followings themselves, the whole process can be rather loose.
   
   I use both techniques, Ive found that my account w/ roughly 5k followers generated through the use of tweetadder sites (totally untargetted, except naturally those who use the sites are prob internet marketers also)
   
   combined with the use of twaitter and tweetlater (scheduled tweets) has been the most productive...every 2 minutes or so another tweet is sent automatically and the large following i see a lot of traffic - i only added hub links to the schedule 2 days ago and my tracker shows 88 twitter hits...ive also seen my regular web sites traffic and earnings increase
   
   But I really cant be bothered to manually create keyword rich, niche specific twitter accounts and followers, it really is more time than its worth.

   My keys to monetizing twitter are this. Go slow. Picking up hundreds of followers a day makes you look a lot like a spammer.
   
   The followers you do have, try to start a conversation. cultivate friendships. You will gain followers naturally, unless you treat people badly.
   
   You may think, this will take forever. I started on Twitter in December. I just crossed the 7000 follower mark.
   
   Continue to talk to people, but also use a system like futuretweets to schedule automated tweets with your links to your hubs.
   Try and maintain at least 50% of your tweets being live vs scheduled(automated) tweets
   
   Yesterday I had my best day ever on Adsense, and I have another ad program on twitter that made me $30 yesterday.

    It seems like this could take over your life and become another full time job. I have heard so much about twitter but I wonder if it is really worth the time and effort. I am thinking I should just begin with a couple of monetizing techniques then once I master it move on to another!

    I really have to just say the key to twitter is automation. Spending time "cultivating relationships" can be much better served writing content, designing pages, building backlinks etc.
    
    If you want to build relationships, send followers to your real social networks
    
    Spend two days setting up auto-adders, refollwers, automated direct messaging and scheduling a full 24 hours of tweets to run daily.
    
    You can still be a live person who goes and wastes some time, with some direct tweets and retweets and live person stuff, but do not rely on such as your marketing method

    to see an example, the tweets are mostly scheduled, they are not SPAMMY, they are the same things i normally write, which are mostly references to articles with links, the occasional quote etc.

    To who? Who is tracking how many followers you gain in a day? Your other followers? Not likely.
    
    My main account has gained 4,5-5k followers, automated, with no real involvement from me since december also.I actually forgot i even had an account until march or so.
