Adsence and Hub Earnings Program

   I'm wondering if I've done something wrong regarding my Adsence account - I have had Adsence for over two months and have not noticed any Google ads on any of my Hubs nor have I earned a cent from Adsence.  I've earned about three and a half dollars from the Hub ads though I've noticed that there is usually just one ad placed on a hub and it is just repeated two or three times.  Does anyone know why either of these things would be occurring?  Is there something I'm not doing that I need to correct?  Thanks!

      Under Earnings tab, check for HubPages Earnings Program Settings. Do you see the Google Adsense program active?

      If you have the  HP Ads Program activated, you will earn little or nothing directly from Adsense.
      
      Adsense is a prerequisite for the HP Ads Program because some of the ads within that program are actually Adsense - but you get paid for those by HP.  On every Hub there is only ONE ad which is provided directly by Adsense, and that's right at the bottom of your Hub where very few readers will ever see it - so naturally  you'll earn little from it.
      
      If you switched off the HP Ads Program, then direct Adsense ads would show all through your Hub and you'd start earning from Adsense.  But for most people, they earn less than HP Ads.

   If you are earning on the HP ads program it inevitably means you have adsense setup properly.
   
   You are seeing ads and the same ad repeated, that's normal at times. Also the ads you are seeing are mostly catered to you, someone else would see totally different ads.

         Thanks for the info, Lobobrandon.  I really appreciate it. I'm new to ads, Adsence and earnings programs and still have a lot to learn!  So the lack of Amazon earning despite the HP earnings is just a matter or who is clicking on which ads?  Thanks again.

            It's normal to not earn much from AdSense if you have HP Ads enabled. AdSense is a requirement to use HP Ads, but when you turn HP Ads on, it means less direct AdSense ads are showing on the page, and they are located at the very bottom, so you are much less likely to earn on AdSense. You can turn off HP Ads and run AdSense alone, which means you will be earning directly to your AdSense account with all the ads, but most writers find that their HP Ads+AdSense revenue is higher than if they use AdSense by itself. Does that make sense?

            Amazon is completely different - it's paid on commission (only when someone buys).  You also need to have Amazon capsules on your hubs with suitable products that people will want to buy.

   Thanks all - I didn't realize when you have HP enabled you don't really earn from Adsense.  I feel better and will let things run this way for a while.  So with Amazon it's not CPP or CPV it's whether someone actually buys something?  With HP is CPP or CPV or also buying? (I know this is fully explained and that I must have read it all at some point).  Just out of curiosity about how long and how many hubs before you started earning at least the minimum payout monthly?  I think someone said not to look for much before a year and a half and 100 hubs but of course it would also depend on how popular you Hubs are.  Just wondering what the experience has been with the "veterans".  Thanks!
