Hub score

    It says that comments a hub receives is a factor used to rate the hub score. comments will only come after the hub features. Then how do they determine the score in advance? I believe that's applicable to the rise and fall of the score after a hub features, is it true or something else is there to be known?

      Rather than trying to unpick the algorithm for the score which is quite possibly using out of date metrics andgaols, I suggest you look at more relevant things like getting onto vertical sites, traffic, and earnings.

        Ha ha.. True.. It was just that I was reading the community help center and there they had mentioned it. So got curious to know!

          Many of us are Hubscore curmudgeons.  The exact formula is secret and the numbers don't really seem to correlate very well with anything important.

      The score assigned when your Hub is first published can't include "reader interaction"  (which basically means traffic) or comments.   It is just based on length and the QAP.   As your Hub matures and starts to get readers, that's when the other factors start to count.

      I'm not sure comments are a big factor in Hub score. I have some with hardly any comments or none and they have high scores, and some with a lot of comments and a relatively low score. I think other types of engagement are more important factors; in particular, the amount of time someone is on the page I think is an important factor, I think. The reason I think this is that many high scoring Hubs I have are articles more likely to be thoroughly read by someone and lower scoring ones are Hubs that contain sort of bits of info that some is liable to snag quickly and leave.
