I have been wondering around this site trying to find information about the earnings page. Where do I go to find out about the abbreviations used in the reports?
CPM is how much you earn per thousand views. I don't know if there is any kind of tutorial on how to read the earnings reports here.
Like you I been wondering around since I signed. I found what I needed just by doing that but I too did it outside of this site. That helped me to find what I was looking for
CPM is Cost per Thousand Impressions. Impressions are page impressions.
CPM is actually an advertiser term because the ads are a cost to the advertiser. The publisher version is RPM or Revenue per Thousand Impressions, but CPM is a more common term for both advertisers and publishers.
So before you are compensated you need 1000 clicks?
No, Say you make $3 for a thousand views. This means if you get 100 views, you'd get 30 cents; if my math is correct. CPM is just an average.
Also, I think it's important to know the difference between clicks and views; clicks are when someone clicks on an ad; this is important for Adsense because they mostly pay for clicks, what is called CPC - cost per click. The Hubpages Program pays per impression, or view; meaning someone views an ad; that's what CPM is; it is when someone is on your page and sees an ad.
It's also important to note that advertisers bid to see how much they'll have to pay to list an ad on anybody's site. The higher the winning bid, the more the writer makes on views.
Thank you all for helping me with understanding about the earnings page. I think I get it know.

I've had a significant long term spike in hub views but with no corresponding significant rise in "earnings".How much traffic is needed in order to start earning say a few hundred dollars per month??

Hi everyone,I finally reached the 10,000 views milestone here on HubPages (my accolade won't appear for a few hours). Wow, what a journey! I would like to thank you all for supporting me and following me. I made a hub about it too, just published. Here's to the next ten thousand!

The last couple of Adsense clicks I've had have been worth 1p (about 1.5 cents). I didn't realise it was possible for clicks to be that small in value! Can anyone shed any light? (These are actual clicks and not just impressions). Off to bed now so won't be able to check...

What determines how much you get per click in Adsense? Is it the topic, or some weird witchy-brew no-one really understands?I ask because 2 things have confused me, looking just now at my account, for the first time in a while.my Easter Eggs hub has been getting lots of traffic and a few clicks...

One day this week I got a CPM if $2.55 and another day this week I got a CPM of $5.71. Both are confirmed final amounts.I am wondering what could cause such a big swing in the course of a few days?

I've been away for a while, but didn't we used to be able to see how much money we had earned by article? I can still compare the views on my articles, but I know that the income per view can vary a lot. Is there any way to get this information?
