   I would hire someone with Bipolar disorder because I feel you can not discriminate against someone based on a disability.  Companies need to encorporate all types of people into the work force.

   Of course I would. BiPolar disorder is a serious mental illnes but it can be controlled. As I have it myself, I know that it can be overcome in many ways, medication obviously being one, as well as others. While it can affect a person's work, it is usually the case that once the disorder is controlled the person's life will return to a mostly normal state.

   Yes I would hire you to work for my company.  I feel as long as you are qualified for the position.  Since you are disclosing that you're a Bipolar I would want to know how good are you at following your medication regime and going to see your therapist.  Allot of Bipolar people are able to keep a job as long as they take their medication.  Sometimes bipolar people go through emotional upsets which can send them into the depressed end or the manic end of the scale.  As your employer I would need to know when you are going through those periods of mania and depression and how I could help you.  Most bipolar people are most productive in the manic phase of bipolar.

   I certainly hope I would be educated well enough about the disorder to understand that, assuming you are qualified for the job, you are probably very intelligent (many bipolar people have very high IQs) and I would realize that your were entitled to equal opportunity under the law. But I would also ask you how I could accomodate your needs to help you with symptoms of lack of concentration, inability to focus, anxiety and ways we might minimize your mood swings. In other words, I wouldn't leave you sitting in the hallway cubicle if there was a lot of commotion going on and you asked to be moved in order to be able to focus on your work and complete the task at hand more efficiently.

   A company at first should look out the qualification, the expertise and his capacity of work. If he possesses the required qualification, the company will not debar him from work. A person is bipolar it does not mean that he is an unworthy fellow. Practically he is suffering with the moody of mentality. If he is engaged in work he might be more beneficial than normal person. He is not biased with any other thinking other than the particular one with which he is suffering. He might be dedicated very much to the work. Apart from that it is the human duty of a company or a government or individuals to help a bipolar person to bring him back to normalcy.

      Seriously, I think a lot would depend on the job... a suicide hotline operator , or air traffic controller? Probably not. Most things  yes.
