tips for posting on craigslist in order to get the best response for your ad
Hi Whitney!
I wrote a Hub a little while ago about how to sell anything on Craigslist
http://hubpages.com/_fcap/hub/How-to-se … Craigslist
It definitely depends on what kind of ad it is that you're posting. If you're posting a product or service offering I would suggest image based posting. Visualization remains a very powerful compliment. Secondly, image based posting will permit you to post in multiple categories and multiple locations without restriction or incurring fees!
It all depends on what you are posting the ad for. If it is for free firewood the writing would be different than if you were posting a job. However, to get the best possible response you are going to want to be as positive as possible and if possible use pictures.
People love being able to see pictures of the items. If the item that you are posting is for something that doesn't have an applicable picture then you will want to try to be as descriptive of the service as possible.
Include a image becuase that will standout more.
Also there is a site called http://www.byebyelist.com That shows ads from craigslist that have photos.
Hope that helps

I agree with everyone that said have a picture. I click on those ads first. And be sure to provide COMPLETE information.
All that said, I think it really depends on WHAT you are offering. We've had luck with "big ticket" items (i.e. over $50) where it's worth someones time and they save significant money. Little things, like two pairs of tube socks, are a lot harder I think.
If you're posting to sell a local item for people to buy, make it as descriptive as possible and ad pictures when you can. You can add up to four.
Make sure you pay attention to Craigslist's guidelines about Western Union scams, etc. I've actually tried to sell a piece of furniture, and someone told me to send them my details to a certain address. They were going to have the moving truck come to me.
I was suspicious, so I asked the person to call me. A person interested in getting his furniture will definitely want to hook up with the seller. Nobody called.
If the stuff your selling is portable, try to meet in a public location like Starbucks or a book store. There are real goofballs on Craigslist that could do you harm. That's why I prefer eBay selling, even with all the fees.
If you're trying to promote a make money online program on Craigslist, you might as well forget it. Recently, Craigslist put up a huge warning in the jobs section about affiliate scams and recommends reporting affiliate links to affiliate networks about scammers.
Frankly, I feel sorry for Craigslist. They had such a great thing going until people ruined it.
Isabellas is correct if you don't have a picture then you are wasting your time.
I wasted my time trying to sell my motorcycle. No response. So I lowered the price (dummy me) still - nada
Put a picture in 5 responses in 3 hours ( this was a Sunday morning!)
i wished I never lowered the price and put the picture up in the first place.

I'm thinking to post my vehicle inventory (I'm a car dealer) to classified online services. I've been told to start with Craigslist. Like, it is one of the biggest lead generators. What;s your opinion? Do you like Craigslist? Can you advise any other posting services?

Hi I spent an hour researching online but no one seems to have the answer. On other sites I've been able to post my articles via URL on my Facebook FAN page with the picture, text popping up, but not HUB articles. No problem posting to my FB profile. But with my fan page it comes up with just...
