I wrote a hub on a similar topic a few weeks ago that will give you my opinion on the matter:

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Why-falling-out … lationship

i don't talk specifically about the mind but more about the nature of romance and how we've all been duped by the myth of romantic love which is a very modern invention.

    Good Question.
I must answer it this way: Romance is of the heart (we Believe).. Belief is a state of mind. (we Know)...

I believe that romance can play a pretty big role in how people make up their minds.  Some people can be totally different mentally and psychologically when the romance card comes into play.

I could give you a scientific explanation but it would be merely bla bla bla, to speak about romance I'll try to take you in a trip.

Imagine this "You stand beside a window with lights off, light clothes and looking the moonlight that comes through the window, a man's hand touches your shoulder softly, doesn't matter who but a man, and hugs you from behind. starts to speak to you softly and directly to your ear."

Ok I can't tell how you felt imaging that, in mind, but I can have an idea of the emotions and sensations that's romance.

Want to talk about mind, in the same scene before you turn around and look at the man, turn the lights on and discover the man is just anyone you may dislike by the way he looks like or talks or maybe his behavior, all the magic is gone and thats the labor of the mind, confront feelings and bring us to reality.

We have to learn to live in a balance between mind and romance, enjoy the romance when it's posible, donĀ“t concern about surrounding things or useless prototypes.

So when the reality strucks your life accept it as it comes and give it's priority as necesary.

    Keep a healty emotional balance.

One has very little to do with the other. Our mind can conceive situations and actions that seem to be  the romantic ideal. But the heart knows better. Romance is not a thought process to be carried out. But a series of emotions and reactions.

If "romance" is referring to the feeling one gets when they are in love, then we can say that one's mind does not contribute to romance in any way. Leading psychological studies state that the average person does not act rationally. If romance or love is an emotion (which most of say it is) then we can say that most people act with their hearts. Most people act emotionally; on a whim. So, to say that one uses their mind to make romantic decisions is like saying that one uses their heart to answer math problems.
