These three things cannot coexist logically:
1. God is omnipotent
2. God is benevolent
3. Evil ex
Either God is not all powerful or not all-loving, either way, why bother worshipping him if he's not?
You might as well make like George Carlin and start worshiping Joe Pesci cuz guess what? God doesn't really give a shit, assuming he's up there at all.
The Epicurean Paradox: Winning Arguments for Atheists since c. 300 BCE.
1. The supreme being by definition is omnipotent. The concept of the supreme being is marred by the ancient/modern churches definitions and descriptions of the supreme being. The being they describe doesn't make logical sense, because they are trying to make an all encompassing being with no bad side, or the ability to have a bad side. Which implies a being that is lacking.
2. Tough love may sometimes be allowing hardships to befall people that need the hardships to learn and develop, or season. It doesn't mean that just because your Dad let you fall over and skin your knee while teaching you how to ride without training wheels, that your Dad, or God, is bad or that they chose to do evil to you. Being benevolent doesn't mean spoiling you.
3. Evil exists because without evil goodness could not exist.
4. You assume that worshipping earns you special treatment, it doesn't. The only thing you get from "worshipping" is the feeling of peace that usually accompanies the feeling of being connected with God, with someone/something greater than yourself.
MIkel - intelligent answer.
I differ with second para, however.
As an example, the Jews killed in Auschwitz suffered pretty tough love, was that all just to teach the rest of us something?
What about mass murders which either take decades to be discovered, or, as I suspect, never get uncovered?
As to the general philosophical debate, it naturally doesn't make sense using the terms mentioned. I'd personally say that good and evil are subjective entities and are concepts that have tracked the evolution of life in general. Perhaps they are too loaded as terms to be useful.
A lot of things ... in fact, most of the things, that Exist, cannot ... or would rather not exist ... if existence, were equated with the logical !

That's the typical Sam Harris argument. How does suffering negate God's existence? Maybe He's just watching. It doesn't mean He doesn't exist and for anyone to bring up suffering as proof of no God is indication of a logical fallacy.

If God is Almighty, Omnipotent, All knowing etc.etc, why he do not stop the bad things his children are doing (especially in his name) and the bad things happening with his children?

I personally don't think I will EVER let anyone or anything be my lord and master as long as I have free will. I certainly will never worship anyone, although I've had some men who wanted me to.I am totally amazed that people allow something they can not see, touch, or communicate with become their...

Do you believe that God created man or man created God?I do not know what I believe, but I want to hear peoples beliefs and reasons.

I have heard atheists say they don't believe in god as there is no proof/evidence.Suppose god(whatever that is) exist as the theist says, what evidence do you expect? Are you expecting his bones, or shedded skin or foot prints? What is the evidence you will be looking for, for an omnipotent,...
