Do you follow the traditional spiritual path of your family or have you changed your spiritual path?

In the 21st century, many people are moving from traditional religions toward a more personal spiritual path. It is alarming how many people are on personal spiritual Journeys in addition to following traditional religions. Taking a journey towards spirituality can be intimidating to some, and exciting to others; however, many people continue to follow the traditions of their families just to keep the peace!

By background had been a traditional spiritual path.  Going to church was routine and getting nothing out of it.  In the meantime by life was very rocky.  It wasn't until a major problem that I got very serious with God and then it happened.  My spiritual path changed as well has my life.  Don't get me wrong, the problems never go away, I'm able to get through them, I have someone to lean on.

I was raised Catholic, and went to Catholic school.

By mid high school I was studying eastern religion.

That opened the door for me.

When I was 23 I had a near death experience that took me even deeper on the path of being "spiritual but not religious".

Since then, I've been in many churches and temples, and yet only find "the perfect fit" when I simply be, with God.

Thank you for a great question,

    Mr.  Twenty Twenty

That guy who ACTUALLY changed his name to the number of perfect vision because you living your vision matters!

My family is spiritual in a religious tense, meaning they follow the typical "church on Sunday" belief.  I however believe in manifestation and evolving to become one through meditation and understanding the flower of life.  My family thinks I'm crazy, but this is definitely the answer I've been looking for!

Don't worry about keeping the peace. If you personally aren't happy with the way it has been going, than God is trying to show you something. You're seeing things that don't work for you. Things which don't match with God's Word (John 1:1)

Take God's Word over traditional religions. Church? Too many go allegedly looking for God and leave with someone else's attitude. We're there to hear a message and be fed and if crap is on the menu, hit the road and don't look back. It's your salvation. Your healing. Your deliverance. Why let organized anything or the position of others jeopardize it?

I was raised agnostically, but in a family where religion was always an acceptable topic of conversation. The result was, for me, that I became more spiritually interested than my parents were.

I was raised in a religion that is very much, "this is the one true religion and is the only way you can be happy and be saved in Armageddon." I tried to make it my own but it never felt right. I was always living a lie. I felt like I was only going along with it out of fear and not because it was in my heart.

I gradually branched out into spirituality and then, when I got my courage up, Paganism. I won't go into specifics but I feel like I've found the right place for me. I've never been excited about religion before so it's a big change.

I follow my traditional spiritual path of my family.  But, I do not down any other faith. Everyone is entitled to choose the faith they believe in.
