What can you give away and still have?
Knowledge is one example. You can teach and still retain what you know. In fact you will likely increase your knowledge with each question you answer.
You can give away a smile or impression and still retain it.

You can give away love and affection, yet still retain your spiritual self; so to speak. In fact the more you give; the more your soul grows! Share the love; retain the emotion and posative inner self!
There are many things you can give away and yet still be in "possession" of.
Emotions come to mind immediately, primarily love.
You can also give kindness, compassion and sincerity and still retain possession of them.
You can give away a "chance" and still have one too!
When you give yourself in any way, shape or form, you still retain your "self"...
There are negatives you can give and still retain as well. When you give someone trouble you may very well still have trouble yourself.
I believe it's much better to give away the positives than the negatives.
Great question!! Provokes a lot of thought...another item you can give away and still retain...a thought!
Bridget D thanks for the answer. Yes the list is long. I agree the positives are better to give.
Women have something they can either give away OR SELL, and still have it.
Love is something that is meant to be given away. The more you give it away, the more you increase it. The more you keep it to yourself, the littler it becomes. Perhaps not everything is like this, but as far as the essence of who we are, I believe this is true.
The joy of life, hope for tomorrow, and faith, for they are the sustaining food of human interaction.
LOVE, LOVE LOVE and LOVE!
You can give away lots of them and still have lots of them in your heart!
In a more pessimistic view, STDs such as HIV, herpes, etc.
Love is the only thing that fits these parameters... even if your love is not returned by the person you give it to, there is always something and someone else in your immediate arena who loves you.... and, there is always something or someone who you still love.
Pain. Joy. Information.
Knowledge was oddly enough the first element that seemed substantial to me as something in which you retain, even if it is given away.
I apologize in advance for being overly literal and analytical, as it stems from a lifelong fixation on all things lexicology and I just can't seem to help it Once I considered the word knowledge a bit deeper, I immediately changed it to the acute and direct, "Information." One's knowledge is something that is acquired throughout one's life, distinct to each beings personal collection of skills, education, experience, observation, understanding, and level or state of awareness, an exponential amount of factors would change the course of how knowledge itself could be given to another. Knowledge seems much too distinctly personal and environmentally morph able a property to do so. One's knowledge is owned only by them, even if they desire otherwise.
Of course you can pass on information of what you know and understand to another, to many others, and I can think of nothing better to be given in life, an insight to the knowledge of another. However, it is arguable that the knowledge obtained is all greatly modified by each person who receives the information. Without your experiences, your skills, awareness and understanding, it would be scientifically impossible for another being to ever acquire your knowledge, an acquired algorithm that is distinctive only to you and your life.
As for “Joy” and “Sorrow”... I hope they speak for themselves.
Take Care- Alex
Knowledge ...
In fact, the ... Returns are always greater, than the ... Given.
And a part of Knowledge, are Fear, and Love.
Love, Peace, Joy, Wisdom, but like everything else given....they are still subject to the recipients acceptance...hehehe...funny how that works!
Your love. Your happiness. Your friendship. We have so much to give
The characteristics that are a part of you. For example, you can be generous towards someone and still be a generous person.
You are known by what you give, and not by what you have.
Give love, have more
Give knowledge have more
Give to society, have more
The list is endless
