scientology is a religion of sorts ... it's a group of people who believe everything in the bible can be explained by science ....... so, in my opinion scientogists do not believe in god.

What is a religion but an applied system of beliefs? So yeah, I guess Scientology would be considered a religion. Also, I don't see a problem with taking a scientific approach to the bible. In my opinion that doesn't disuade someone's belief in God.

Here is the real answer. Yes, it is a religion because it deals with the spirit, human soul or what ever you prefer to call it. Therefore is does not fall into any other category.

Some Scientologists believe in God, some don't. There are people of all different religions who also practice Scientology. In no part of Scientology does it tell what to believe or what not  to believe, as far as God goes. It is a practical religion and it's practises work and are not based on faith, but on actual proven results. Scientology actually supports all religions and it is non-denominational.

Scientologists do not believe in God. They believe, because L. Ron Hubbard pointed it out in the book Science of Survival, that cultures tend to go downhill when/if/as they suppress or deny or neglect religion in general. But they don't really believe in God. If a Scientologist were to begin to talk about his/her prayer life, or relationship to God, other Scientologists would definitely think that there was something the matter. They might write a report ("Things that shouldn't be" or "knowledge report"). They would be likely to assume that the person needed some auditing (counselling) or had been mis-handled in some way.

Speaking as a former Scientologist (and very happy with it), @Wealthmind gave a spot-on answer.

I'm also a Christian who has explored Buddhism, Taoism and Jewish Kabbalah. I've learned a great deal from each of these.
