Do you know of any natural remedies for my sinus infection?

I have a sinus infection and am horribly congested. I do a sinus rinse everyday and am on amoxicillin (from my DR). I take allegra-d and am looking for a nature preventative and something to help know. Please help!

    Hi Amie,

You need to get or make some colloidal silver and do a sinus rinse with that. It will deal with any infection or viral problem in your nasal area. I used it frequently as I had a tendency to produce mucus when I smoked. Stopped smoking, stopped the problem!

Anyhow check out my hub on CS:

and if you want more info just email me:

I get a lot of sinus infections myself. I have to occasionally go to the doctor to get antibiotics and nasal spray. One nasal spray that works really well is Flonase.

A sinus rinse should help to lessen the congestion. They recommend you use it twice a day. I wrote a hub about the neti pot which is an easy way to rinse your sinuses.

How about heating up some water until it is hot enough that it steams. Place warm water in a bowl and add some Vicks Vapor Rub to the water. Then place your face over the bowl, far enough away that it's not too hot for you and place a towel over your head. Breathe in the steam and vapors from the water for a couple of minutes then remove the towel and take a break. Repeat this procedure a few times and hopefully you will feel the pressure relieved off your sinuses.

Put a few drops of Eucalyptus Essential oil in warm water and breathe it in for a few minutes.

Hi Annie. I just put in a HUB -Sinus Disease -The New Therapy. Take a look.
You need to get your nasal cilia moving.  Cilia normally move fast and push bacteria out of the nose and sinuses. Tea, lemon and honey help. So does jumping jacks and "ooooommmmm.'  When you use pulsatile irrigation it is "tuned" at a rate to restore normal nasal cilia movement.
A common reason for your failure to clear is that many sinus rinse containers have backflow and the containers become contaminated. Latest July issue of Journal of Rhinology showed high levels of contamination in the containers even when the patients were receiving antibiotics. Use an irrigation device that doesn't have backflow like the pulsatile nasal/sinus irrigator.
    Get well!

Yes, yes, yes! I suffered from sinus infection for years, turned into pnuemonia a few times even. All the antibiotics never helped, the allergy doctor gave me shots as he found out I was allergic to a lot.
But the thing that saved me was finding a Netti Pot. It looks like a little teapot and you put warm water and special salt that comes with it together and use it to clean your sinuses. You're supposed to use it every day. Now I use it only when I've been around dust or pollen or feel a cold coming on. I havent had an infection since I started using it.
You can find them at health stores, nutrition sections of your grocery. Check it out online.

I wouldn't have ever believed how well this could work until I tried it.
I am the "go to the doctor and get a pill to make me better" kind of gal!  Silver Biotics worked so well for me that I've been taking it every day as an immune system booster.  I've been taking it for a week now and my husban is sick with a cold AGAIN, and I haven't caught anything yet!
