Yeah, that sounds easy enough, but they won't stay in bed.  They go to bed really late and wake up really early.  I've tried filling their day with more activities so they'll be tired earlier, but it doesn't work.

The best chance you have of getting a toddler to bed early is waking them at the same time every day.  Keep them active with plenty of outdoor play (if poss). Then put them to bed at normal time on the first night and gradually bring it forward by 5-10mins every night.  You must remember that all said and done some children only need a certain amount of sleep in 24hrs and if they are getting this then is really not much you can do.

Put them to bed earlier. Easy as that just move up your bedtime routine to the desired time and it will we tough the first few days but they will get used to it. I say this but my daughter does VERY well with changes in her schedule and this has always worked. I am a beleiver in letting her cry it out with in a reasonable time though andnot everyone is. Good Luck though!!

I started putting my son to bed at 9 in the evening. I feed him dinner by 6 every night then let him go play. At 8 I start getting him ready for bed. I bathe him for 20 minutes, brush his teeth, watch a short movie like Dora or Diego, read him a book, sing to him and then tuck him in. It has worked so far for me. After he got use to the routine he is in bed asleep by 9:30 every night. My doctor also told me that I can put up a small gate in front of the door so he can't wander around especially in the middle of the night. My son has gotten use to the idea, now he may cry but it's ten minutes tops then he crawls back into bed and goes right to sleep. Hope I have been some help. Good Luck!!

Start there day off early, run them all day if possible. if you are doing yard work have them help, kids love to help and it wears them down. keep it up even after dinner then a hot bath and read a book and that should help make a schedule so they get used to it. then they will just go to bed earlier, but remember they are at the age where they dont need alot of sleep as they did before  and  the soon you put them to bed the sooner they will wake up.
