Matthew 19:29 (NIV) And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
This means that those who decide to follow Him and accept Jesus as savior, even if it means that their families disown them for doing so, will enter Heaven.
I'd say that it literally means what it says. If you leave your life and security to do Christ's work, you'll be rewarded.
That could be going into the jungle to preach the Word to those who have never hear it (missionary work) or voluntarily leaving to help those in need (natural disaster, etc.).
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
The first of the Ten Commandments. If filled with the Holy Spirit, believe me, nothing or no one is more important Jesus!
Mat 19:27-30 Then Peter said to Him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed You; what then will there be for us?" And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name's sake, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life. "But many who are first will be last; and the last, first.
Thank God for Jesus! The "last" (me) shall be "first!"

I have enjoyed many "debates" with folks here on the Hub, but in the long run, its seems those that believe still believe and those that don't still don't. Why is this?Could it be, Christians, that we allow the nay-sayers to have their say while we are trying to not be...

If Jesus had to be crucified to fulfill His mission on earth, why is Judas considered His betrayer?According to Matthew 27:5, "So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself." So obviously he was not motivated by greed, hated what he'd been forced...

Why do Christians who predict the end of the world often mention Matthew 24:36?Matthew 24:36 reads "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." However, many Christians who make predictions of the end of the world/the...
