What is supposed to be useful education for a school kid in 2010?
How should we teach our children? What should we teach our children? What good is education anymore..apart from running the system? The system we call civilization is actually a livelihood making scheme and not really education. Does real education has a chance in future and do kids of today have any kind of luck in achieving real education that builds faith and character...and not just help one make money and matter?
now days every parent always in tension for His child Futue. They search which school is best which medium is best for him. but they forget to teach them our own traditional, respect to elder, how to behave with other. so according to me we must teach them how to live in great world as human who is society friendly in nature >
Realize that "education" is like a spider's web. It starts at the center and fans out in numerous directions; each strand is criss-crossing and overlapping the others.
Primary is learning a skill, for globalization has created enormous competition for jobs. But a classroom is also a sterile environment. It is like a bread that fills the stomach but has no taste.
A well-rounded personality includes social skills that cannot be taught in a classroom. That comes from human interaction and life experiences. Increasingly, children are left to themselves to find their way. Uncertain and afraid, they disconnect from reality and turn to electronic devices that only serve to stunt their emotional growth. Or they turn to gangs. It is here that adults must step in and become mentors that provide positive life experiences that enrich a child's life.
I strongly believe in mentoring to children. Mentoring is providing a personal, one-on-one interaction that gives knowledge, wisdom, and skills the child wouldn't find elsewhere.
A rewarding life is about achieving balance and harmony. It's also learning to make choices. The only true curriculum for that is our own experiences, and helping children learn from the mistakes that we've made.
You might start an Adopt-A-Child program where each adult "adopts" a neglected child and provides the child with positive life experiences. This might include trips to the zoo, teaching them to make a dessert, or anything that might be interesting.
I agree.

this is the kind of thinking that, personally, I call for. I think we are of similar spirit
"No man can be considered educated who does not study the Bible and no man can be considered uneducated who does study the Bible." I'm certain that I did not quote that accurately, but it holds true today as surely as it did when first spoken. Wisdom comes from God and that is where all education should begin.

Our society places a greater emphasis on formal education than on equally important concepts of informal education and incidental learning. My success, as an educator, in business, medicine, and practical theology, has in been facilitated by my attempts to apply informal and incidental learning...
