    i think the best way to fight depression is to change your mood by doing what you like the most like watching movies, listening to songs or talking to your friends.

    I dont have the ultimate remedy for depression, if it is chronic then it may be more difficult to overcome but whenever I am in a tough situation I just think 'what is the worst that can happen?'...It doesnt cheer me up instantly but at least it makes me realise that there are solutions to every problem.
    It helps too, calling my sister who always cheers me up.
    Some postive thinking gurus also sugest;
    1.To smile more often its an instant mood lifter!
    2. Surround yourself with happy people or people who make you laugh.
    3. Listen to a song that makes you smile or brings back happy memories.

    Except the fact that you are depressed first before trying to fight it!
    1 in 5 people will suffer a depressive episode at some time in their lives.
    Try to keep busy by either exercising and or listening to your favourite dance music:)
    Seek counselling or G.P. and talk about how you are feeling and try to way up why.
    Keep an emotional diary and write down your thoughts and actions to events that may trigger anxiety/depressive moods.
    Anyone who has experienced this invisible cruel disorder knows that in time, you need to learn to live with it but also take comfort in knowing  that many other people manage it by excepting that the really bad days do pass and then you shall enjoy and appreciate the good respite days so much more than you ever did before:)

    If you have a genetic predisposition to depression, i.e. your parents or siblings suffer from depression, chances are you will too. You should see your doctor the minute you begin to feel depressed and cannot function the way you normally do. If you do not have a family history of depression and find yourself becoming depressed, still see your doctor. In either case, follow your doctor's advice, but pay attention to your lifestyle - eating habits, exercise or lack of, sleep, leisure pursuits, work habits, relationships and other factors that may affect your stress level. Also, if you use alcohol or drugs, stop! They contribute to depression, big time. The key to fighting depression is maintaining proper balance in your life.
