   Will robots ever have souls?
   
   and if so, does that make human beings gods?

   I f God want to put soul into them than thy will definitely have it, but vaguesan there will be no difference between human beings and robots then. Robots will breathe, feel, hear, eat and have emotions. It also means that they will die one day, so the real purpose of robots will end too.
   
   As far as your second question that "does that make human beings gods?" have you ever heard about a human being put soul into something non-living? We never heard about any such thing from the time this earth created, even you can not find any such evidences in the Sacred Scriptures or in mythical stories. This is not possible. There is only one God and He is not so powerless that He needs human beings to put soul into things. He is all mighty and powerful no body else can become God by putting souls into robots.

   Well, from atheistsic point of view humans don't have souls too...
   So i really doubt about robots

   Consciousness and "soul" are identical constructs, in my view. Consciousness (hence "soul") is a consequence of anatomy and physiology. As I believe that robots will one day possess consciousness, it follows that I believe they will one day possess souls.
   
   if enabling consciousness makes humans gods, then humans will become gods.

   Not as long as they have to be porgramed.
   We each are the gods of our own life,because nothing can come in to our life unless we say so,or open the door.
   Soul means to have a separate image from that of
   a material existence.

   The soul is an aspiration to be more than simply the highest evolved animal on an out of the way, third class planet. 
   
   Do robots aspire?  Are they sentient?
