    Sure they can.
However, you can't change them.  You can't even make them want to change. Change comes from within.

Well in my opinion people dont change they remain the same. The thing is people tend to behave differently in different situations and we start to think that the person has changed but the fact is we never saw the other side of the person which was always there.

For example you meet a person who used to love you and then after some yrs you feel that the person doesnt treat you the way he used to.

He hasnt changed its just that the circumstances changed which is now making him/her do what they are doing.

BUt then again, its just my point of you.

Oh yeah people can change, it may not always be profound, but people are always changing. The person with the darkest past may have the brightest future. I know an old Native American medicine man who told me years ago, "It is not as important where you walk, but where you leave your footprints". I have found that this is as true as anything I have ever heard.

Not only can they change, we all do change over our lifetime.   There is hardly anything that cannot change.  Change for me over my lifetime has only occurred when I wanted it.  So I am concluding from personal experience, that change really needs to come from some internal place.  What motivates us to change is something personal, for me it is usually dissatisfaction with something in my life.

ANYTHING in this world, I believe is truly possibly, but only if the person, theirself, actually wants to do that.  We cannot change them ourselves or try to do so without extreme disappointment on our own part.

I guess the answer is easy if you ask it a little bit different: Can I change? It's the same for all people, like SteveoMc says, we change all the time, but we don't want to have to change because someone else demands it from us.

Do you want to change? Do you think it is worth it? Why do you expect someone else to do it, but not yourself? Wouldn't it be way easier to work on the only thing on earth you have a little bit control over instead of trying the impossible with someone else, where you have not the slightest control whatsoever?
