I had an ovarian cystc cluster for years without realizing it. I had a great deal of abdominal discomfort that came and went. It wasn't diagnosed until I went in to the hospital with debilitating pain.

I would strongly suggest having the surgery. The discomfort will get worse and worse until you have an explosive pain in your gut that doesn't allow you to walk or get out of bed. There is really no way out of it.

On the upside. There surgery is not that bad as surgeries go. I was up and walking around about four days later. It hurt for sure, but that's what narcotics are for. You'll be glad to have it taken care of.

    Good luck!

You are always allowed a second opinion but I think I agree with ar.colton here, surgery is probably your best bet. Cysts are very common and almost all women have at least one at some point in their life, though most are very tiny and go away on their own.

I would get more details from the doctor though, just so that you feel secure in the decision to have surgery or not. Ask how large it is, how the heck do they know it is 7 months old, what are the consequences if it is not removed, etc.... For the most part I trust doctors, but you deserve the whole story and have every right to ask them questions.

My sister has an ovarian cyst, and the doctor suggested taking birth control to shrink it.  They never offered up surgery as an alternative.

an ovarian cyst can be benign or malignant..usually you need to take a couple of imaging and blood tests to see what your dealing with..sometimes, the doc might recommend just getting the thing out..
i need to know how old u are,ur sonography report, and blood tests to really help out

Surgery should be your absolute last choice of treatment as it is an invasive procedure and it cannot prevent recurrences. I believe that sometimes it is unavoidable, however, have a thorough check up and explore your alternatives depending on your case.

If you want to permanently eliminate ovarian cysts, you need to deal with the causes using natural remedies.
