Which is better to travel to? Jamaica or the Bahamas?

Me and my friend are taking a vacation for this spring break, so we have some time to plan. I am 20, and she is 19. We were going to go to Cabo, but anyone know;s that Mexico, is generally not a safe country. So we are not going to Mexico, So we were thinking one of them two places. Which is better? Cheaper? Where will we have more fun? And which is safer? Or if you know of any other places that are fun and exotic to go, and aren't expensive? Obviously, it's going to be expensive wherever we go, just want to go with a cheaper place. & It has to be an island. So any advice?

Definitely bahamas. Bahamas is definitely more expensive but I love the view there smile

Do a little Google to make sure no 'surprise' when you reach there (where ever you choose)

I personally haven't been to Jamaica, but the Bahamas to me were not all that great. I preferred Hawaii over that trip. I think our issue was that we decided to not go very commercial, so we had to find our own entertainment and instead found nothing but the poverty side that tourists would rather not see. I would just suggest that wherever you decide, use a resort. An all inclusive resort that will provide everything you need makes it much easier to stay safer no matter where you choose. My fiancee and I went to Puerto Vallarta, only went to town twice and in daylight, then stayed at the resort the rest of the time - I felt safe the whole time and loved it! It would be cheaper too, but no matter what you decide.. Have fun!

I have never been to Jamaica, but Bahamas has very beautiful beaches and turquoise water  if you venture into the sea and smaller islands.

Jamaica of course. The Bahamas is nice but it can't compare to Jamaica, there are so much more to do and see in Jamaica.

The Bahamas, hands down.  You should take a look at this site to give you an idea of things to do in the Bahamas:

    Hope that helps.
