   As a mother of 4 kids i will tell you my 5 best tips:
   1. Don´t try to be the perfect parent or to have the perfect family or kids. But always let them know that you love them.
   2. Listen, talk and teach instead of punishing,
   3. Try to develop sibling harmony and never compare your kids.
   4. Always speak with your couple, family and babysitters about your home rules (such as no TV when having dinner, or bedtime, along with others) and ask them to respect those rules. This will help you all to deal with daily stress.
   5. Have some time for yourself...raising kids is a fulltime job, and you will need sometimes a break!!!!

   1) When you say you're going to do something, do it. Whether it's a reward for good work or a punishment for bad behavior or a promise to be somewhere at a certain time. Kids need to know that when you say something it's going to happen. If they don't believe it you'll never get them to listen.
   2) Volume. Don't go from zero to ten with nothing in between. When they need a stern "No" give them a 5 and keep it there.
   3) Answer their questions. The minute a child stops asking questions his/her brain has just shut off.
   4) Cool. Always keep your cool. Kids learn by example.
   5) And like eculligan said show them the world. It'll teach your kids better than you ever could. It shows the every aspect of every argument.

   It is great to be able to give your children the things they need and want, but be careful as well to not over indulge them because it can lead to greed and being unappreciative for what they do have. I think I over indulged my two at times and they turned out alright, but they did expect too much sometimes and didn't seem to always appreciate it enough after they got it! That's just a small part of raising kids, but everything you do or don't do with a child counts. You just have to give each issue the attention it deserves and hopefully they turn out well.

   A parent will learn more about how to raise her child by simply listening to them, than by any other tip. As you listen, you will hear what they are about, what their needs are, how they feel, what is missing in their lives.
   
   All other rules and tips, mean nothing if you fail to listen.

   1.  Love them, unconditionally.
   
   2.  Use soft-spoken discipline.  Even if they're grounded for a
        week, don't yell.  Once you start yelling, they shut down.
        They don't hear you, so you're wasting your breath.
   
   3.  Listen.  Listen to their dreams, their ideas, their hopes and
        fears, their goals, and disappointments, respond posi-
        tively, and encourage them.
   
   4.  Never compare them.  They are each unique individuals.
   
   5.  Share.  Share your goals, disappointments, accomplish-
        ments, and mistakes.  They will know you are just as human
        as they are, and they won't be afraid to come to you, and
        confide in you when something goes wrong or they have
        great news. 
   
   They'll come to you because they will know that you care, you understand, you've been there, you are proud of them, and you love them unconditionally.
