Does marriage really work?
The reason why people get married is because they want to be with that person for the rest of their lives. However, in the world we live in today wherein one can just divorce (or file an annulment) his or her partner, one may wonder, does marriage really work? And is it worth it? Or does it only work for a few people?
It can work for anyone but both people have to work at it together to make it work. http://hubpages.com/hub/A-Tribute-To-My … g-Wife-Kim
I think like all things, it depends on those involved. So for some, yes it works whereas others will happily walk away. For me, the marriage element is irrelevant, it's whether the relationship works or not. I'd be no more inclined to stay with someone because we were married if things weren't working than if we weren't. I know that's not the case for some people (those who marry due to religion etc) but it just shows that it's the people that work, not the institution. Or I think so anyway! :-)
Marriage is a created relationship.
Created relationships has expectations.
So, no created relationship lasts, once the person feels dissatisfied.
Marriage doesn't work if you don get / feel that mutual benefit
I was married for 7 years...divorced and remarried within 2 years..now been married for 34 !!
If you are NOT married and things dont work out it is all to easy to up and leave ...if you are married it takes a bit more to walk away.....its not as easy.
Talking your problems out is a good start...always discuss dont argue
Give and take ....dont want everything your way
Be friends as well as lovers.
A marriage will work if you want it to , whatever gets in the way.
Marriage is not supposed to work...Let me clarify, the institution of marriage is a sacred nuptial bond between TWO people, therefore in plain terms it is the responsibility of BOTH these people involved to work at it.
Personally, I don't think marriage works - I think that what works is two people who love each other working together to create a great life.
A life in which each shines brighter because they are sharing with the other.
This takes time, patience and effort and you've got to be committed to working throught the temptations and dab patches which will inevitably come.
Most people don't deal with their own personal demons, so they wonder why their relationshis often follow a similar patterns. Guess what the reason is really simple - they take the problem with them - it's them!
Have fun,
R.

In recent major survey, 40% of US adults and 50% of young Americans agreed with the statement: "Marriage is a thing of the past". Do you agree or disagree with this statement about the institution of marriage? What are your top reasons?

My ex had an affair with married women and they are still together after it all began 3yrs ago. Our divorce was final 3 months ago. They are now living together. I keep waiting for them to get back what they gave out, but it seems to be taking a long time. She will not let him talk with me or see...

Do you think that marriage is really necessary? My parents got married because "it was the right thing to do" not because they were in love with each other. Now after a nasty deparation and 27 agonizing years, they are finally happy.

Is divorce a best solution for marriage that is not working?all I know about marriage is for better for worse; I don't know why people try to escape the worse via divorce.

Do you think God cares if you have sex outside of marriage? Yes or no and why?The reason I ask is because it is clearly stated in the Bible that sex outside of marriage is wrong, but today it's twisted by those who claim God wants us to be fruitful and multiply so sex is not a sin or that...
