I write because I like writing. I write as an outlet for my research, experiences, opinions, gripes, contemplations and desires.  I write because words flow much more fluently from the tip of my pen (or fingertips) than from the tip of my tongue.

I hope for the accomplishment of having others enjoy reading what I write.

I write because I have to. All these twisted, funny (to me) ideas ricochet around my brain until either I write them down, or take a Tylenol. I don't care for Tylenol.

I'm hoping to hone my skills, work for a local paper as a humor columnist, and one day (dream of all dreams) become a syndicated humor columnist and have lunch with my hero Dave Barry.

I have to say I write because I enjoy writing, and love to write poetry. Have been writing the All American Novel for years and one day I hope to be published. It would be nice to see my work published, or at least some of my work. I write at times to unleash some of the pent up emotions inside, finding it a great therapy to put emotions on paper, journal, blogs, and the likes.

I write because (a) it is a form of expressing myself logically and coherently (b) It helps to create documents that can serve the future generations (c) I LOVE IT (d) It gives me a sense of accomplishment to just create something on paper and give life to my imaginations.

Sometimes I write about the conflict inside me. When I do, it's because I hope to relieve some of the emotional pressure build up it causes.  That is writing nobody else sees.

Other times, I write with an aim to move the people who read my material.  I want to move them to act for a better world, a better future, a better life. That writing may be fiction or deeply researched factual material. Either can be used to convey ideas and motivations.

And either way, the simple, physical action of writing feels good to me.  Whether by pen or keyboard, it feels good.

I write because it is in my blood.  I enjoy entertaining and taking someone away from their own crazy world for a moment and let them live in one of mine where in the end, it all comes out right (mostly).

I hope to accomplish success, I would love to become published globally and put on someones bookshelf after they have read the whole book.  I dream big.

What I hope to do is the simple question. I hope to be published and read the world over. Why I do it is another, as I have been writing for twenty five years or so and have yet to come close to that goal. I think the main reason I continue to write is that it is my escape from this dull drab world. It is my sanctuary in a world where anything is possible.

I write because I learn while I write and I find it amusing. I hope to help others learn sth new or read sth interesting. Reputation as a great writer would be a huge accomplishment, earning a few extra bucks, too :-)
