Okay I get that Christians are the body of Christ. However if we are all ready perfect in God's...
eyes what do we do when we sin? Just continue to ask for forgiveness and continue to live by his word? I had stopped going to church because of a new policy that was adopted. I've been searching around for a church that will teach the truth. What you've said in your blog just hit home for me. Conversing with other Christians is what I miss the most. I do charitable work on my own and will continue to do so. I just miss being around Christians that actually practice and live the truth. I guess what I am saying is that I feel lost.
I know that some churches will do things to turn you off. You need to find a church that teaches the Bible truths and nothing else. The Bible teaches that we should be active in a church so that we can learn more about God and worship together and learn more of what God wants us to do as a church and as an individual. i'm sorry that you had the experience that you did. If I were you, I would spend some time in prayer about a church that God would have you be a part of and let him lead you in the direction that you should go. When I moved where I am now, I had a very hard time finding the right church for me. I knew the minute I stepped one foot out of my car that the church that I am now in was the church for me and I have been very satisfied and fulfilled in this church. I hope that you can find a church that satisfies you. You will learn much and feel much more a part of the bride of Christ when you do.
Paul was faced with the same dilemma. He said that whatever he didn't want to do, that's what he did and what he did want to do, that's what he didn't do. Then he goes on do say what a wretched man he is. Think about it. This is Paul saying this! He was not just a baby Christian when he wrote that either.
No matter how far along we are in our walk with the Lord we all struggle with the sin still waring in our body.
Then the word says, "What then? Should I continue in sin? God forbid!"
And in first John, John writes that if we do sin God cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
We all are in the same boat with Paul. We all struggle to do the right things. Sometimes we just screw up and sin. And if we do? God forgives us. And He forgives us over and over again... The cleansing blood of Jesus doesn't just cleanse us once, but it keeps on cleansing and cleansing and cleansing. This is why we are under a NEW and BETTER covenant than the Old Covenant.
But should we take advantage of this? No. of course not. We have to listen to His spirit of conviction and obey Him. That will keep us from sinning. And if we begin to do that we will begin to hear the voice of God more clearly every time we obey His spirit of conviction. That is where the hearing of God's voice begins. If we can't learn to listen to His spirit of conviction how do you think we'll ever be able to hear God in other things?
Don't give up on God and yourself. God still loves all of us. He never leaves or forsakes us.
I am in a similar boat. It seems every church I try anymore is all about a Sunday morning rock concert. They have an hour of rocking out, 10 minutes of preaching and another hour of rocking out. I love good music but after 5-10 minutes of music I am ready for some Bible thumping, some reach into your soul - alter pulling conviction that gets people off their butt and on their knees.
You don't see that anymore. They sing they dance shake hands and go home.
The other thing I can't tolerate is a preacher - preaching from an NIV bible. So many words and verses are missing out of it. And you mention it to Christians and they want to argue over it - they want to defend it. How do you defend missing Bible verses?
Really? Give me a break.
On your way out of church, stop by our little Christian store and buy yourself a bunch of Jesus paraphernalia - every good Christian has a ton of that stuff laying around.
Praise the Lord.

Why does it seem most Christians are immature. It seems most people professing to be Christian do not have a proper grounding in the scriptures. They drink the milk but do not seem to be able ( or maybe no desire?) to eat the real meat- understand the deeper things of God, in spite of the fact...
