Because, Unfortunately for some couples, this is the only time they exchange a card, a dinner, or even hear the word, "I Love You". Should it be this way? No.

I have not had a present bought for me in many years. But it should be for love, passion and romance.  Where has all that gone to?

Valentine's day is not really a big deal.  It signifies how everyday should be.

    Hello Jagandelight!!

I personally don't see Valentine's Day as a big deal.  Not when it comes to intimate relationships anyway.

They say it's all about love, so I tell my Son or my Mom and other family members and friends Happy Valentine's Day.

I think this is the time of year that you have a lot of "cheating" going on.  I am like an outsider looking in!!

Well, Because, it is the time to sin if you are single, time to show love if you are married, and time to take it further if you are dating....

I don't know. My wife and I don't celebrate valentines day. We feel that we don't need a special day to say or know that we love each other, it happens every day.

Because the greeting card companies are experts at exploiting male fallibility by making it feel more important than any other day in the love calendar.

No, it's not a big deal..., except for the greedy florists and greeting card manufacturers.

IT'S A BIG DEAL for me because it's my birthday.

Sending flowers and or a nice Gift to someone you love and appreciate  helps the economy and provides jobs.

Well, it the day of love.  I believe that it stirs up the love that's in the nooks and crannies of our hearts. Reminding us that this is a special day for people who know what "real love is."  It's the day on the calendar that if it had a mouth would  say "I've earned my day and I expect to receive all the joy in it." and I believe that if this day had a face the eyes would twinkle and the the heart would pound fast and we'd hear lots of aaaahs and oooohs from the mouth as this spirit swept through the world looking at all the love that had come out of the people that day.  The innocent children with their valentines and mailboxes, the boy who finally found a way to make that girl he's been watching all year - finally smile as she looks at him - the husband who just wants to say - I still would have asked you to marry me if I had to do it all again.  - the elderly couple who still hold hands and smile at one another.  It's the puppy and the little girl who finally meet and fall in love.  It's the daughter who sees her Daddy come home from the Military safe for good this time.  These are simply little glances of the love in the nooks and crannies of this world and making this day an official day - makes it a big deal - because of its meaning and the people who give a little piece of their hearts out everyday.
