What is the Kabbalah, and does it influence us today?

No!  I wasn't joking.  I admitted that I didn't know, thus the question.  I'm looking for help and answers.  You seem like the person with all the knowledge that I'm needing.  So I'm requesting a hub from you.  What is the Kabbalah?  What does it have in stored for us, is it just for men, what oral traditions have been committed to writing?  Those are just some of the ideas and questions the hub might be subject after.  I would love to read what you have to say about the Kabbalah.  You seem to be the most informative person who actually knows something about it. Thank you.

I may eventually work in that arena (kabalah, mysticism, etc) but I am not ready for that online project.  I have a few projects at Squidoo that will bleed into Hubpages and then I can commit some real time to Hubs.  It is a great community here too.

If you would like that I suggest some reading material, I can, if I had an understanding of your interest and your desired destination.

I have written a short history and explanation of Kabbalah in response to your request:

"Kabbalah in Hebrew means "To Receive," which is a good starting point in explaining what Kabbalah is all about."

To read more visit this hub:

I will write several more articles on Kabbalah in the coming weeks. Let me know if there are any specific topics you would like to know about.

Jewish mysticism should be learned from a Jewish person. So many have learned it incorrectly and therefore teach it wrong

Bnei Baruch says it's not Jewish mysticism, but that it's spiritual science. They also say that it doesn't need to be taught by a Jew.

Authentic Kabbalah is being taught online, for free.

The Bible (Pentateuch or Torah) was one of the Kabbalists' first books. Now, the code has been revealed to all who want it.

It's all about getting closer to God and to one another through Love.

The following short video got me started.
