   Would you want to be told if your hub had a few grammatical errors?
   
   I see a lot of hubs that are basically good, but their quality is marred by an unsightly grammatical error or two. I am tempted to comment with a suggestion for fixing it.  If your hub had such an error, would you want to know?

   Absolutely. I tell my students everyday that mistakes are a part of life and you won't learn anything unless you make them. I cringe when I go back and look at some of my earlier hubs and can't believe that noone told me how bad they were! I wouldn't leave your suggestions as feedback though-you should send them a private message.

   Why not.  I think that if someone keeps making noticeable mistakes then it might be kind of embarrassing to find out after numerous ones.  As long as it's done politely it should be ok.

   I would want to know, but be contacted privately.  I wouldn't want a complete edit done on the piece but glaring grammatical errors pointed out would be welcome.

   Absolutely, I've had commentary over my grammar on a few occasions and made the adjustments accordingly. My hubs are often long, it's difficult to pick up everything.

   Thanks for your advice, everyone! It's my philosophy that this is an article publishing site, so everything should appear to be as absolutely professional as possible. If a hub is completely atrocious, I flag it, but I agree that for the good hubs that just have an accidental error or two, a private heads-up is probably the best way to go.

   I would appreciate a private message informing me of some kind of grammatical error as I consider hubpages an interactive writing community. As such, I also consider it a place to learn and grow through constructive criticism. When we are able to offer helpful feedback to others in appropriate ways we all benefit as hubs improve and writing develops. Thanks for pointing this out.

   Yes, I would highly appreciate it to know.
   My very first 2 hubs I just wrote in a way I thought. And english is not my first language. So I made lot of mistakes but I got a comment telling me, that I did a good job on writing my articles but I were well adviced to use a proof reader for the next times. Because I could not get one I discovered Google translator for me and could improve.
   But I´m quite sure that I still make mistakes. And in order to get better and learn I would love to know what I could/should change.
   A private message were the best way to tell.

   I would not mind as long as the person leaving the comment did so in a constructive way. I also agree that a private message would be the best way to be informed of errors.

    For sure. No one is perfect and sometimes we put things together when kids are screaming or we are rushing out the door. Mistakes are bound to happen. I would love to know of any errors I make. Hopefully I won't make too many.

    Not really.  Being that I write American English I do proof read what I write with spell check, however if it is grammer then that is a different story for me.
    
    I write the way I write for a reason - It's me!  I would rather have a few grammatical errors But have the person know what I was telling then vice versa.
    
    Let us not forget one of the most addresses in the woild is tooity toid and toid.  I probably will never remember if a person spoke grammatically correct, however if they failed to inspire me then that would be bad.

    Yes of course, i am a beginner not a writer. I would be glad if you could make some suggestions and critic but it has to be a private message and must not be written in the comments of my hubs.

    I wouldn't mind too much. We all make silly little mistakes like that often it's due to exhaustion and lack of concentration which is nothing to be ashamed of. if the person said it in a nice way that would be helpful.

    I mostly write poetry which can have a different feel & flow to the words than an article or short story.  The placement of words within my poetry holds meaning.  Therefore, I would not be accepting of grammatical critiques to my poems but would appreciate it for an article.  Stories are on the fenceline for me.  When creating a story, you're using both material from your creative mind -and- using reality, from what you've experienced of the world.   So, while I mostly feel that a story, whether based in realism or fiction, should be grammatically correct for the most part, it also has room for adjustment to reflect that not all people speak with perfect grammar.  Some people have a little more "flair" to their speech due to the way they naturally connect words & sentences.  I feel that we're all here to either be creative or to relay information.  If the material lies all the way to the creative side, then I would not feel free to critique.  If it lies to the informative side, then yes, critique away!  But sometimes there is that middle ground & we need to remember that we're dealing with individuality.  Spelling errors?  Yeah, let 'em know (unless it's poetry as it might be meant to look a certain way.)  In the end, everything written here should be readable and easily followed.  If the ideas are coming across muddled, while within a piece that's meant to relay information, then that's not good and the writer should be open to considerate, suggestions.
