Exercising the tummy helps: by bending, turning the waist from one side to the other, jogging and cutting down fatty, sugary foods because they tend to accumulate in the tummy more than any other parts if the body.

There is no way to burn fat from any specific area. Whilst this is something that few people wish to hear, the honest truth is that your genetics are responsible for where you store bodyfat, and where your body will opt to burn it from. A healthy diet and strong exercise plan will always help though smile

Good question!  That's my problem area for sure.  I hear running works.  Zumba is giving my some positive results too, but I need to do it more consistently.  Americans, in general, have to improve our diets.  I need to increase my daily water consumption.  Someone asked this question a few months ago and may have gotten some useful answer: http://hubpages.com/question/90869/what … -belly-fat

Eat an apple before each meal (3 a day); it reduces fat accelerator in your tummy.  Add exercise to this recipe and it's your for the taking!

cardio is best for burning fat all around. There is really no such thing as spot treatment (unfortunately), so doing stuff like crunches will strengthen your stomach but not reduce it.

Abdominal fat is really tough to get rid of once it occurs.  Ideally, it is better and easier to avoid getting it to begin with.  However, I believe food choice in combination with exercise is most effective.

Avoid refined, processed foods.  Avoid food that are high-glycemic carbohydrates.  Avoid trans-fats and sugar.  Fruits and vegetables should be the bulk of your diet, not bread and pasta.

Exercise alone without correction in food choices may not be enough to get rid of abdominal fat.

Like anything else involving weight-loss: a change in diet (fewer calories) and an increase in exercise. These two in combination would be most effective.

I have a hub on weight-loss if you care to investigate.

Healthy fats found in olive oil, peanuts, peanut butter, and fish are known to help burn belly fat. Try to incorporate more fish into your diet, while eating a handful of nuts as a snack in between meals instead of your normal routine.

Also try starting a high intensity interval training program, which is where you sprint for ten seconds, then walk slowly for thirty seconds and then you repeat. If you can do this for ten minutes a day you will get fast amazing results. For more information on wight loss or high intensity interval training, check out my hub How-To-Lose-Weight

If you are looking at something instant in removing tummy fat, we have what we call abdominoplasty or in common terms, it is known as tummy tuck.  It is done with a small incision is made on the lower abdomen, below the bikini line so that the tiny scar can easily be hidden with underwear or a swimsuit.  Excess fat is then removed from the area, the muscles of the abdomen are tightened, and the skin is pulled taut on the abdomen.  The tiny incision site is then closed with sutures.
