   .... depends on the hub and on my mood. my last hub toked me around 2 hours sitting backyard drinking my coffee and writing it at my smartphone keyboard ...

   I usually spend a couple hours.  Then I'll let it sit overnight and read it the next day.  I find that I'll add a few things and tweak a couple sentences here or there.  You definitely don't want to just throw anything out into the Hub world.  Make sure your hub makes sense and is clean grammatically.

   It will depend on the mood and inspiration. Some times it can be days or months but other times, it can just be hours away.
   
   I like to write when I am in relax mood with a nice warm cup of coffee.

   It depends.  I ususally spend about an hour, but a lot of the time, I'll only spend 5 or 10 minutes at one time, then come back to it later.  I only do this as a hobby right now.

   Most of the time it takes a couple of days for me. The whole thing is a process. I do some prewriting, and then a draft. After I have mulled over some of my thoughts, I edit and then post it. If I didn't have the kids, I could probably do this within a few hours, but I only get to write when they are napping...like right now.

   Sometimes the just "pop out" almost instantaneously.  I truly think it's better though to not publish one on the day that you started it, but if you do - and I sometimes do, we can always improve the text and add capsules to it.

   I spend about 2 or so hours on one hub. After that, I spend another hour or so posting backlinks to the hub of various sites. I think I am going to spend a couple more hours actually crafting a perfect hub, but that will be later.

    As far as typing is concerned, it takes less than 30 minutes. But to research thoroughly and make it visually appealing (like putting links, legal pictures, sources etc.), it takes usually a whole day. Plus, I only publish the hub after five days which will help me to track any spelling mistakes, this also increases the hubscore.

    I am very new at hubbing, but I have always been an impulsive writer.  I wrote my first book that way and it is working out pretty well so far.  While I am not yet popular, the people who have read my hubs seem to enjoy them.  I am very happy about that.  I guess it just really depends on the person.

    Shortest is 20 minutes - longest :1 week research and one day writing. My 'climate change', 'Amercia's top killers' and 'evils of drug companies'  articles took days. i just can't seem to hone in on topics that can be done quickly - like product articles - they can be ripped off and re-worded inside an hour.

    It varies wildly - sometimes things just flow and I can write one in 2-3 hours.
    
    At other times I have something to get down and it can take several days for my thoughts to become coherent and to assemble the research.
    
    And occasionally a hub never does really seem to flow so after a few days I just have to ruthlessly bin it.

    for me, on an average it takes 5 to 8 hrs, including all effort - analysis, research, drafting, proofing, images etc, excluding tea breaks, and other intervals.

    Great question.  I'm a very new hubber but I've been a writing teacher for 20 years.  Once, I agaonized over everything I wrote,but after editing something like 5000 college essays, I've become a lot faster.  Right now, I'm writing hubs about things I've already reseached, so the writing is going fast.  One thing I did to speed everything up (this goes with the other question you asked about pictures) is that I spent a whole morning taking pictures of things around my house that I wanted to write hubs about.  That has made the process of putting the hubs together faster.  However, there are some things I don't know how to do yet, like backlinks.  I don't actually know what those are.  So I'm trying to spend some time learning how to do this.  I had made 1 cent two days ago, and now I'm up to 5 cents.  Not much, but it is a start!
