Another question for ya'll, Do you believe that there is only one religion that is right?

In other words, is Christianity the only one that is right, or any other religion from that same point of view

i believe that saying only one religion is giving religion too much credit.

I think everyone is free to believe that their religion is the "right" one, and I think that people who believe in their personal religion do think it's the right one.

Of course not. Everyone likes to think of their way as the proper way and all others as off-the-mark, but, that is a form of theological and philosophical provincialism.

WOW!!! You better hold on tight, Thought-Provoking. You've opened a Pandora's Box with this one.

I'm a Christian so I believe that accepting Jesus Christ as one's Savior is the only to get into Heaven.

I also believe that religion and/or someone's choice to believe or not to believe is a very private thing.

Where religion gets into trouble is when people of a faith start forcing their beliefs on others when it's not wanted, whether that be through Bible thumping or fear of beheading. Both can be annoying but the first is a lot less messy.

I think that people have a natural inclination toward things which they were born into. Had I been born in the Iraq, I would probably be a Muslim. Every major religion has roots in the same belief system. Christianity can be traced back to countless other fables of demi-gods born to virgin mothers, crucified, and resurrected. There are even countless similarities to the story of Jesus Christ and sun worship. Everyone is wrong who chooses to believe that their religion is comprehensively accurate.

Absolutely not. Everyone is different... Many paths, many roads to take - Not just One...

ONE religion...I don't understand why you think that any religion is different at all. The preachings, rituals and customs are different. They're all right as they preach and teach the same. So, they're all right 'religiously'. Kapish.
So, if I'm not a Muslim, a Christian or a Hindu or a 'wotever' then I go to hell? Why should any?
FINALLY, we've all come from the same source and/or place that we call GOD. This will never end as other questions (such as where did GOD come from? etc) creep up.
Saying, all that a man (woman) of religion is an infinite times better than an atheist. 'Choose' one if you still don't have one.

Thank you all, and to the last answer before me, i do believe that every religion that teaches good morality and ethical teachings, are all right for there all the same story just said in different ways, I am a catholic, but amongst my religion people believe that christianity is "the only way", the apolegetics put many information out to support this, but in the end I'm never convinced. They see jesus christ is the big factor which makes them better then all other religions, but in the end every religion has their own"factor" that makes them different then all others, it can all get tricky, but I am not yet convinced my religion is "the only way", and i personally believe it's a foolish belief itself, but as time goes on my opinion may wain, you never know yours too, it's an interesting world, but in the end we're all one people of God and that's never gonna change. Thank You all for the great answers

I do not believe one religion is right for all. But there is one God for all. He interpreted by peoples from all over the world in a way that they understand and believe to be an acknowledgement of His being the "I am." In the Bible it says make a joyful noise unto the Lord. I believe that includes praises going to Him from people who believe in Him and worship Him the way they understand his existence. When they worship him in their own way, it all is noise or praises going up to Him. He understands everyone of them and hears each of those people that praise Him.

I find that most people are inclusivits, as in they believe their religion is the one true doctrine, but accept that other religions are rational and believe that they can lead to salvation. I personally am a pluralist and think that all major religions serve their purpose without subscribing to one. If you're looking for arguments against exlusivism you should check out the problem of geography and the problem of the gap. Both are very interesting smile

I believe there is one truth but I doubt seriously if any one has the truth and the whole truth and nothing but the truth. We are none perfect and as hard as we may try we none know all there is to know, we just do the best we can...or should.

If a person following a particular religion believes that this religion is right... then to that individual, the religion that they are following is the right one. Not up for debate!

No religion is 'right' - they are all 'wrong'.

Allowing your brain to be shackled by religion: a mindset fabricated by someone else, is a crime against yourself and the world as it enables that 'someone else' to control your thoughts and actions; even if detrimentral to yourself and the world.

Before you retort that, 'No one controls me!.' Consider: when an America president makes a statement about troop deployments overseas, he always finishes of with, 'God bless America.' The inference being that America is, 'fighting the good fight,' for all the right reasons. You probably support troop deployments overseas for those same reasons. You probably do not even stop to consider that the purpose for the deployment might not be for the reasons stated: to spread democracy - whatever. And that the real reason for the deployment is to seize control of somebody else's oil, make the American ruling class even richer and keep the American war machine fueled up so that it can invade other countries and seize stuff that belongs to them as well.

Your religion tells you to 'have faith'. To have faith means to believe without question: to believe without proof. This renders you a robot: a robot that remains switched off while the world burns and children die..

I believe that each and every religion is basically the same thing interpreted in different way by cultures that were completely different at the earlier times of human history.  I believe that the only differences are some historical occurences, some small and less meaningful ideas, and basically unimportant stuff.  Every holy book was written by man, by the way, which means corruption and lies could exist in them.

Religion is such an outmoded and atavistic concept.   The main emphasis of mankind should be spiritual, universalistic, and humanistic.  There is NO ONE true religion, beliefs are varied as there are people.  It is about time that humankind get rid of this antiquated concept.

Yes there is only One God "Jesus Christ"
    Religion sucks
Religion is such a NON spiritual, universalism, and humanistic outmoded atavistic concept based on lies. There is ONE true faith, False beliefs are varied as there are deceived people. It is about time that humankind get rid of this antiquated concept and get know God as he is.

Christianity is not what you are told it is.

No. Religion's are man made. Truth cannot be found under one set of rules or guidelines. It must be found within one's self.

We are however all made of the same stuff. Came from the same eternal source of LOVE, and will be coming home to the same place as well.
