Believe by heart or by mind?

   How do you all guys believe? Just say yes to all church says or try to understand it? For a long time, I always thought God is a miracle doer, some one like a magician. He reaps from where he has not worked on and creation has no logic in itself but just everything was made when he asked to be done. I used to tell my friends to believe in God because he did lots of miracles here and there.
   
   However, we all know that everything we see on earth has a specific rule that it follows. Even each and every protein in our body has its own rule to follow. Which means when God created universe, he also embedded rules to each and every system.
   
   So I think rather than just taking belief as just something we feel, we have to understand it. Many times I feel, people who loose faith dont have any foundation for their belief. Some goes to church because, there is somebody who gives what you askes for. Is our relationship with God just in  ask and receive format ?
   
   The more I try to understand his words, I feel more attracted. Please share your experiences

   I believe that our relationship with God is by both heart and mind.  The more we try to understand His words the more we move beyond an "ask and receive format" to gratitude and adoration.

   Interesting.
   
   I believe through both my heart and mind. I think this is true for most believers.
   
   I read an interesting story about a young girl artist (prodigy) who began drawing at the age of 4 and painting at the age of 6

   This site has her life story as well but I thought I would shorten it and share it as well here:
   This young girl at the age of four began talking and leading her family into the knowledge of God. I say it that way since her parents were both atheists.
   
   Nobody knows where she gained this knowledge about God. she just knew that He existed and talked about him often.
   
   Her parents were really staggered by all of this. They could not explain it, and it did not in any way understand it.
   It was through her strong belief in God that they came to know Him as well.
   
   This girl is a phenomena. Please check out the link and you'll see what I mean.
   
   So I also tend to think that in all of us is a "knowing", Possibly inherited through Him.

   I believe by both, like it seems many others do, but if I had to pick one, I'd have to say it's more by heart... I've had a few experiences in life so far where all the evidence (mind) pointed towards "negative" (for lack of a better word) but my belief in my heart and just trusting in that over ruled all that my mind could see and conceive.

   this is a very interesting question..... i don't know if i Know the answer..... it has certainly got me thinking....
   
   I have always been brought up to believe there is a god he has a purpose etc, i think it was put there in my heart when i was young.... because it has never entered my head not to believe, i don't know whether it is thought process or nurture and nature, does that make sense

   Both I guess but the heart should proceed the mind bcz many aspects of any religion depend on the heart, depend on believing and acting upon that... The mind comes later to rationalize the rest...
