Do you believe positive thinking has any merit?

Absolutely!  Positive thinking can help a person be more successful in life than negative thinking.  Sometimes positive thinking is not enough.  I have to "positive talk" myself sometimes so I will "positive think."  Negative thinking is a vicious circle best avoided.

I absolutely do. Positive thinking, affirmations and gratitude not only affect what you attract into your life but it also affect the vibrational energy and therefore the health of your physical body.

Yes of course it does.  There isn't any magic to it either.  A positive attitude and positive thinking goes a very long way.  Just try forcing a smile and walking with confidence when you go to the grocery store.  I bet you will be stunned at what happens.

I totally believe in positive thinking and also that it is underutilized.

JenJen0703, I agree that "sometimes positive thinking is not enough."  Positive affirmations and saying the right things to ourselves internally enable us to think positive.  Thanks for answering.

CWanamaker, you're right, there isn't any magic to positive thinking, but the right attitude and thoughts definitely go a long way.  I've lived a long time on the pessimistic side of life and I like the brighter side better.  Thanks for answering.

michelegoldstein, the law of attraction.  We get what we expect to get.  For good or bad.  And absolutely our thinking affects our physical bodies.  That's why people who are depressed for a long enough period of time, eventually take on physical symptoms such as fatigue and even muscle aches.  Their bodies begin to line up with what is going on psychologically.  Thank for your answer.

I swear by positive thinking. As human beings we tend to allow negatives into our mind as well as negative people into our lives.

It is crucial to cleanse both your mind and your life of these negatives as they only serve to drag you down.

I believe positive thinking makes us better people, kinder to others and ourselves, as well as promotes better physical health as well.

Positive will always conquer negative in my opinion.

Absolutely. No doubt. You cannot achieve anything positive without first thinking it. The greats all say, follow your dreams and believe in yourself, and You CAN make anything happen.
