Why does it take so long to get a hub published after it is corrected? and why is the violation messages not more specific to the problem?

Hubs that are edited after being flagged for moderation go into queue to be reviewed by a human being.  That list gets longer over weekends, and holidays, when there aren't as many team members working in the office.

Authors who can't easily figure out what is wrong with their Hubs are welcome to contact the team for more info, as stated right in the violation emails.  Most people are able to look at their own content and can tell what needs to be fixed.

The violation messages are computer generated, because it would take too long for a person to specifically write up each hub that has a violation, especially if the issue is general, like a pattern of spelling or grammar errors, for example.  If you can't figure it out by the general description, you can send a message to ask for more detailed feedback.

Since a person has to review the hub and decide whether it now meets the guidelines, it will take some time, 1-3 days usually, maybe more during the weekends and holidays.

Try posting it unpublished first if you have a problem with this and perhaps it can be fixed before it is published.

Thanks for all the helpful responses. Seems that it is published now, however, since it was a Christmas related hub I guess I have to wait till next year to see any earnings on it. The delay has cost me due in part to my ignorance of what is acceptable and in part to the delay as pointed out , due to the holidays.

I would like to know too.  Probably, the corrections are not OK by HP.
