Do you believe that our dreams are the product of our subconscious?

I have dreamt of death, re-birth, snakes (so on so forth) before, and decided on a whim to consult a dream dictionary. I was surprised that the definition correlated somewhat to that period of my life. Was it just my mind making a pattern that was supposed to be not there? Do YOU believe (well, science can explain it) that what we experience in life affects our dreams?

Yes I do. You should watch this documentary, which explains why we dream: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4uX0cdd-vU

Our dreams are direct result of the subconscious activities. Medical research have prove time and again that this fact is true. Our subconsciousness mind acts a sponge and soaks up all the information. External or internal stimulus then stimulates the deep thought patterns to show up in our dreams.

Absolutely! Just as Ian says in his answer there has been medical research about, proving the relationship between the subconsciuos and dreams over and over.

It can be interesting, writing down your dreams in the morning. Put a pen and some paper beside your bed and see what happens.

You can come to some interesting conclusions.

Sometimes this is possible, sometimes they are a product of our conscience, yet other times the are messages sent us by God.

I really think so. Sleep is a time when we get riffle through our emotions, and really think about them. It's crazy how much of that stuff relates to our lives. I think it is the body's way of trying to reduce all the subconscious stress and worrying we do, so that we can eventually get a better nights sleep, and function better, reducing the cycle in general.

I think a dream dictionary is like the Mayan Calendar. We don't really understand the Mayan Calendar, but scholars on a grant have convinced us that they are experts who hold the key. The Australian Aboriginal People believe the "Dream World" is just as real as our waking conscious world. Our body is resting while our subconscious, spirit being is off on adventures and interacting with others in an astral dimension.

I don't believe there is much more scientific validity to the modern pschologist's view than that of the Aussie Aboriginals. The aboriginal version is more romantic, and helps the kids to look forward to bedtime.

Your subconscious didn't read the dream dictionary. It's a start - but everybody has their own symbols. The best way  is to scribble the dream in a notebook next to your bed. Then later -  if it's possible to read your own scribble -  put in online (can be private or public) - other people will try to interpet it for you.

Most of the time just writing it out will get you to say, "Oh - I see"

But then things can get so strange that it will remain a 'WTF was that all about?' forever such as my Zero-gravity sex dream ( uh-huh - totally Fkg weird!)

It can go various ways and what we experience is definitely one way.  What we already know is another, what we are in denial of #3.  And depending on who you have and entertain spiritually in your life #4

If the truth be told, dreams says so much without uttering any words!  It's always good to pay attention, whether you understand or not because it will unfold at some point in the day, or later in the week or month

Yes indeed so, I truly believe that our dreams stem from the subconscious and so many people tend to dream more after having a dramatic experience, or by watching of a film filled with such dramatic theatrical events, or intense action, horror, or the likes.

I use to have nightmares after watching scary movies as a child, and so my mom stopped allowing me to watch them, and today I have little if any dreams due to my inactivity in many area's of viewing of such things.  Hopefully this satisfies as a good enough answer.

I definitely believe so. Sometimes if I'm stressed out about something in my life (like a deadline, or an upcoming major change) I find that I end up dreaming about it too!

I would say that's normally the case. I think your subconscious mind is at work or at play during your dreams. I sometimes dream about work, and my mind is playing out potential scenarios for situations that are likely to occur.
I can remember more than once when I was at work on a piece of writing, and hit a snag, only to wake up from a dream with the answer. I had to write it out because it was perfect. The one I remember most vividly was a piece of iambic pentameter poetry that was frustrating me because the right words were just elusive enough to evade my ponderings. I woke up in the middle of the night, and the whole poem was complete, just as I had dreamed it. I never changed another word.
I do think that dreams can serve as warnings... I have heard many stories of dreams that served as forewarnings of danger, and I have known some of the people that had those dreams... in a couple of cases, I was told the dreams before the events in the dream happened, so I believe that there is something beyond one's own mind that can influence the shape of dreams, but I don't think this is normal. Generally, I believe dreams are the product of the subconscious mind.

Yes I do. I believe dreams are coded messages our subconscious mind sends us because when we're awake they contain information we are not likely to be able to handle or simply choose not to.

dreams are the product of our subconscious mind, it can also be a premonition dream or just random things.,but dreams if you search further about it..it is telling you something about your past life..current life or situation and also about the future..it warns you of something..it will tell you what to do and what not to do!!!..our dream is very magical and mysterious and powerful!!!..your dream can mean that your old self should die or old habit should be gone out of your system..and re birth means you need to change and start a new life ...snakes means warning..like there are so many human snakes hahaha

While I do believe that dreams may have to do what you think about or what troubles or destresses you, they can also just be mixed up fragments of thoughts. In some cases you may dream of something that you never ever thought about.

When are sleeping, our brain rewinds back whatever we had done during the day, whatever we planned or thought. Something may have scared us or made us happy. Our brain is like a tape recorder that can preserve records from the past. They dwell in our memory. Just as we think of it once in a while, we dream of it when we are sleeping. If we dream  new things is doesn't mean anything. It just show that the brain still move while we are asleep.
