How many books can you read at the same time?
When I was younger, I was able to read 7 novels at once, switching each day from one to the next, and keep track of what was going on and where I was in each story. Nowadays, I only keep myself to a maximum of three books at a time but I was curious if there were others who read more than one book in the same space of time or if they prefer to just read one at a time. I hope this isn't confusing.
I usually have three books going at a time. Seven seems like a lot to keep track of. Mike- Mockingbird Books
I generally read three or four books at one time.
In part for fun, in part because I am studying for my Naster's in History so there is a lot of reading for study. Plus I have additional reading for work as part of my job is running a book club at my local library so I usually read at least a novel per week for that.
Even when not studying or working I still read just for fun too and have a kindle or cd player with me at all times just to listen to a book or two whenever I have a few minutes to spare.
I can read lots.
One book takes me 2 months to read, 4 books takes me a year to read. But I can definitely read them all at once.
I used to read more than I do now. I have developed a concentration problem for whatever reason. But I used to have 2 or 3 going at once. Didn't bother me, I could always keep the characters and the story straight.
i read a lot but one at a time and some I read in just a few days depending on the type and the length...although there was a time that I read 2 books at the same time, but I prefer reading one and finishing it before going to a new book.
Great question. I find one of my biggest problems with reading is that I start a book, then another, then another and am as interested in one as the other. It is tough to fully immerse yourself in a story when it is being interrupted by characters from another world. The comprise to me, while not being able to give up reading up to 5 books at a time, is to read books by the same author, same country, same time period, anything that allows the fictional world of your imagination to run together a little better.
I do have books laying in several places of my house, but if you really want to know what is in it and not lose the story line, just read one!
As a college student, I sometimes have several books going concurrently.
I am an avid book reader. Though I buy 2-3 books, I enjoy reading one book after another. Once I finished the first book in 3-4 days, I read the second book and after finishing it, I finally read the third book. I enjoy reading the books one by one so as get completely engaged in the story, characters, consequences and all.
