   What is your favorite schooldays memory?
   
   We were learning so much in those years: lessons, of course, but friendships, disputes, fitting in, seeing ourselves as others saw us, things we liked, things we disliked, human differences, etc.
   Some of life's lessons were painful, some joyous, some just uproarious.  We may have learned empathy and compassion, or other less admirable aberrations which passed with time.  We learned how to lose and how to choose.  We learned teachers are humans too, some strong and admirable, some weak and ineffective.  Regardless of our circumstances we learned even when we thought we found life so difficult.

   I was "observing" all that was around and within me ... making mental notes ... comparing, compiling, editing ... in my head ... all the time ... Thats  my Schooling, Colleging and Universitying ...
   
   The usual Academics and the Related ... were an imposed necessity, in that these only provided me the time and the opportunities to understand ... In due course, I somehow got the Master's Degree  ... Thus, earned, the Conventional ...
   
   But not the unconventional that I now teach.
   
   Not that I've learned all by this mode of educating myself ... but reckon its good, because at 70+ ... I am still Learning ... still Educating ... still Perfecting. 
   
   So in a way, I am still at School ... and thats a great feeling.

   I thought about this and can't find a favourite memory - I have so many happy memories.  I was lucky that I went to a great school and, although there were a few rocky moments, made some wonderful friends.  I know that life wasn't always a bed of roses at school, but the years have blotted out most of the awkward, embarrassing, painful teenage moments and all I remember is laughter and good company. 
   
   I also don't remember being bored.  I work in a school now and "this is boring" is a constant whine from the students, which is remarkable considering all the technology that now bolsters their lessons.  Maybe they will forget their boredom in the years to come!

   Primary school: great games in the playground, country dancing and summer fetes when we danced round the May Pole. 
   Secondary school: being in the tennis team, great English & French lessons, going on the school Mediterranean cruise.  Being one of the 'train girls' (we travelled from country to town on the train each day, for about 45 mins each way).
   Lots of friends (1 of whom was with me through both), lots of fun, lots of great teachers and two headmistresses to fear!

   Daydreaming of my two teachers getting hurt. The one funny day when my first grade teacher fell in her chair and rolled backwards across the room screaming. Reading in the library section away from everyone else in silence. Having warm tea with my sixth grade teacher. Biology in 8th grade outside scaling dead fish. And watching tv all afternoon and writing all through high school because I was done with all my school by 11 in the morning.
   Homeschool mixed with a little private school.

   Camping in the mountains in year 7 and mountain's climbing and skiing down from the top in the summer heat on the only snow preserved from the winter time...I have been a part of youth climbing and skiing group under supervision of experienced climbers:) I have learnt everything I needed to know for life there:)
