What are some 1st birthday party ideas you can giv me?
My daughter is turning 1 on May 24 and I have yet to come up with a birthday party idea. Any tips and suggestions will be great.
keep it simple. I think little kids can get overwhelmed by too many people. Close family, a cake, a few gifts, and lots of pics! Enjoy it!
On my daughters first birthday; I went to the bottom of her toybox to the toys that had not been touched in a long while and wrapped them up. I filled a very small paddling pool up a few inches deep, threw some plastic balls in and let her and two friends play to their hearts' content while I drank tea with my friends (the kid's mums) she was just as happy as any other one year old at the birthday parties I've been to and I think the only thing I bought was the cake and the wrapping paper!...she was probably happier than many, because she wasn't overwhelmed by 35 unrecogniseable faces pinching her cheeks!
The first birthday is almost more for the parents who survived the first year than it really is for the one-year-old. They don't know what is going on, they will probably cry at least once, and would be just as content if you didn't have a party. Do what will make you happy and give you a nice memory if your child's first birthday.
If you feel pressured to have a big party and don't want one- don't do it. Small family parties with some balloons and cake with a cute first birthday shirt and bib is all you really need.
My daughter is having her first birthday this year as well. I chose Mermaids for the theme. She was born during the summer and we have a pool in the backyard. Figured I'd get a little creative.
Big elaborate parties for infants are for the benefit of the parent only, the child is too young too both enjoy the party or remember it. Too many stimulants and too many people are a recipe for disaster for many infants. If you want a succesful party that even you will enjoy, keep it low key; invite close friends and family. Pick a theme, match the invitations, decorations, cake and thank you notes for a special touch. For my sons first birthday I did a Thomas the Train theme, and invited 15 people total. I also suggest getting a smaller cake for your daughter if you want the traditional "here is my child shoving cake in their face photo". You don't want to ruin the whole cake, but watching them pick up their own cake and try to shove it into their mouth is priceless.
I agree with many of the other people. You should keep it simple. We just had close friends (like family) and family. You'll have plenty of time in future years to have big theme parties and spend lots of money. I just try to keep my focus on what the baby/child will enjoy.
For my daughter's 2nd birthday, I asked her what she wanted to do. We did all of her favorite things at the time and had a fun day. We didn't have a party that year. For her 3rd birthday, we had a party with some friends. Her favorite thing to do is blow bubbles. So, we played music and blew bubbles. Simple and fun.
Enjoy the special day and take lots of pictures and video.
1st birthday celebration is always very exciting for all the parents. First of all you need to select a theme which is of-course children related. It can be like jungle safari, mickey and Minnie, Birthday Princess or any other theme in trend. Try to keep your decorations simple and sober. Also use balloons in your decorations as children love balloons. As you have 8-9 days left for the party, you must start your preparations now onwards.
Have a fabulous party...
For my daughters first birthday I chose a garden theme. She was born in the spring so it made sense. The bright colors and streamers were really fun. she loves balloons so we blew up a bunch and all the kids loved them. It doesn't take much one year olds are easy to please they would be happy just with cake.

For a 1-yr old child's birthday party, it's typically a family-oriented event. However, at some later age, the child will want to have a 'kiddie party' with just their friends there. What age does this transition typically happen?? And in that case, how can the mom of the...

to have a birthday part for children at the six month point? I don't mean for a six month child. Apparantly it is becoming increasingly popular for children to have their normal birthday party and then a 1/2 year party eg 10 and a half, eleven and a half etc. In my view some people have more...
