Do you feel that Hubpages Values you as a consumer?
We write, we earn, they earn, but how do you feel as a write you are valued by the system? How do you feel about the recent changes? Do you feel like your opinion counts or matters?
I'm not sure Hubbers can be classified as consumers as we do not purchase time or space here. I think my attitude is that since it is a free site, my opinion likely doesn't matter much to the big wigs here at Hubpages. No, I don't care for the new changes.
I like the new changes and look forward to more things to come.
I have one issue with the site in general and it's that great suggestions for improvement are often ignored, for what reason I don't know. I feel that HP needs to take into consideration more of our opinions especially when it comes to making the site better in terms of getting rid of spam and other garbage. But then again when some people make suggestions in the forums the older hubbers who were here when the site was a baby, tend to thrash those suggestions with an "I know best" attitude. They feel like since they have been here the longest then their opinions count for more. I see it in the answer section too.
As a hubber I feel that Hubpages owners and staff values me as a hubber because if they didn't then they would not value earnings. This account doesn't make much yet but I do have a primary account that is making strides.
Most of the problems I face here on HP has nothing to do with the site but more to do with other hubbers.
I do not see that the owners or moderators showing concern, care or openess about hubpages. Some materials pertaining to the regulations and rules to be misleading or more or less not clear, concise, and fully upfront. I have found another site just like hubpages but allows their members to get more money for their writing and Adsense. I am currently a new member and have not yet posted any writing there, but I am excite about seeing how I can become a well-known writer and monetize. I personally think they should show more love to their members, aside from accolades. Members I would not call them consumers unless you mean the public that are not hubpage member. Our opinions don't matter and we have to input or say so in what they decide to do with their business. You have to remember, "the house always wins".
I would like to have this as my full-time job to pay bills and do what I love-write but my passion and love affair with writing never gets detered only replenished. Good question Dave.
I personally feel good about all that you mention. I have had great support the few times I have had to email the "team"...and issues were discussed with me at a level I could understand, and the resolutions were pointed out rather clearly and easy to follow.
I attribute this support to the fact that we are valued....maybe not as consumers, as I don't feel that I am a consumer on this platform, however, as a member, yes.
I do feel my opinion matters and counts as I have given my thoughts and ideas to several new areas of development and attention was given.
The new changes will always have to be tweaked...that is ongoing in any area of development.... I am patient and tend to give my feedback so that the tweaking can move forward. Most recent changes are focused on us gaining Google ranking... a plus for our pay and for the pay of HubPages... A good thing!
A few weeks ago I would have had nothing but positives to say about HubPages, as experiences had always been good, and I had got out of HubPages at least as much as I had put in. And in terms of Hub Scores and accolades and similar marks of respect, I felt I was valued.
One recent experience on issues of duplication has somewhat tarnished that view, as I felt my arguments were ignored, and that common sense was not allowed to prevail. I felt that if my efforts were valued, then the staff would have responded to my points in a rather more personal manner, showing more understanding of my individual case than I felt they did. Their response was actually quite hurtful. It was an experience which left me feeling that the effort and hours I put in to my pages was not appreciated as much as I had imagined.
It is only one incident - as I say I have had positive responses in the past, and individuals such as Simone Smith have always seemed very personable and approachable. But when you put a lot of effort into your writing, and you feel that that effort hasn't been supported, it's very easy to feel deflated and disenchanted.
Anyway, at the end of the day, HubPages gives me the opportunity to practice my writing skills, publish my views and further my hobby, so hopefully any current feelings of being undervalued will fade in time.
I'm really not sure about the recent changes. I don't like change generally, so they will take time to get used to, and - not being fully comprehending of the monetary or technical side of HubPages - adsense, google rankings etc - I don't know if the changes will prove beneficial or not. But I've no big problems on that score.
Hubpages, in my opinion, has seemed to change to benefit the user and their business interests as a rule. There have been some changes that might have ran off some users, and even users who've made decent money here. Of course there is no reason to expect that hubpages.com should ever weigh any group of user's as having opinions in regards to the site as being the slightest on par with their own thoughts.

I'm very timid when it comes to change if the change is not one of my own choosing, even if it is good change. Moving to HubPages was an upsetting experience for me, mainly because I felt the place we moved from would find a way to mess it up or that HP would treat us like illegal aliens.Only...

Hi! My name is Max and I'm new to hubpages. For all you experienced hubbers out there, do you have any advice for young hubbers like myself getting started in hubpages and fitting in? Cheers,Max

Okay, there is a lot of controversy out there and some pretty exciting things have happened in hubpages. If you were in charge, what would your forum rules be? What would you change about hubpages itself? My biggest thing with the hubs, obviously, is the lack of free reign. I would love that. In...

I have been thinking of leaving HubPages for a while now because of several reasons. With their latest ebay/amazon update I now have to reformat over 90 hubs (Some had not been published yet and I was waiting for Halloween). Rather than doing this I will use my time looking for a site and...

I just joined this website today. My question is regarding the quality of the things I have posted, seeing as one thing I wrote seems to have been taken away... I am open to suggestions so I can get better at what I do, especially seeing as writing is something I would like to someday do full time....
