It hasnt made me fat! Of course if you are diabetic or have digestions issues it could be a problem. I eat at least 1 banana, half a grapefruit, an apple and a small bowl of strawberries and blueberries everyday. In the summer even more! Its my idea of dessert.  Dried fruit can add alot of calories but everything in moderation.

Sweet fruits have a lot of sugar, which equals calories, and if you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight.  It entirely depends on how much fruit you eat and whether there are more high-calorie foods in your diet. But, if you have to choose, eating an apple or banana is better than a cupcake.

This is all true, but I would rather you a piece of fruit than a processed low calorie no nutrition item

EVen though fruits have fewer calories and are usually fat free, except for avocadoes and certain fruits, they still have calories. And if you eat it to excess, more than your body can burn, they body converts the glucose to fat.

When making reference to fat, it will be the consumption of large amount of calories or increase of calories for daily intake. I do believe every thing we eat has calories therefore we need to sort of calculating the amount of daily calories to avoid being fat.

Anyway, I consume lots of fruits but I am not fat. So, I do not think fruits will make you fat. It helps alot in bowel movement and that is a good thing.

A few years ago there was a study done.  Two groups of people ate the same number of calories.  Some ate only fruit.  Some ate other stuff (I don't recall what the other stuff was, though.)  It was found that weight gain happens when a person takes in too many calories of any kind, including calories from something like fruit, which is, of course, a healthy thing to eat..   That was one study that I happened to hear about on the news.   Maybe some new element to the conclusion has been discovered since (but I don't think so).

Any type of food in excess can make you fat however it must be taken into account that people generally don't eat thousands of calories daily from fruit. On the flipside, there are people who only eat junk food such as chips or candy bars and lose weight because they do not exceed the number of calories that they will not burn through life functions or exercise. Of course their internal health suffers.

All this being said, I don't think that anyone would eat thousands of calories from fruit on a daily basis to get fat. Fruit is full of water and fiber, two things that will discourage a person from eating enough to get fat.
