Does money really make you happy?
Why do people commit acts of violence for money or people take their own life having lack of it?
I wouldn't say that having a lot of money would make me happier, though not having to worry about where I'm getting the money for the electric bill would definitely make me less stressed out.
I don't think that money makes anybody truly happy. I think that the sense of security that money can provide is what makes people happy.
Money doesn't buy happiness, but it does buy some things to make you happy.
Money doesn't make you happy, but it sure makes it a lot easier to eat.
Money is only made up of pieces of paper and coins of all sizes, recognized by the government and the residents to trade for goods and services. With a high purchasing power, you can enjoy a high standard of living as you can afford goods and services that make your life easier and more convenient. However, I agree that a high standard of living does not necessarily entail a high quality of life. The level of satisfaction can vary among different people. It all depends on how one thinks.
Not when I burn it for warmth as this picture seems to be implying.
No. The subject of money and material wealth is the root of unhappiness, but it is a source of security in a world that values and depends on it.
it gives me less stess when it comes to bills, but only those you care for can make you happy
I don't know, but I'd like to find out! I'm sure it would provide less sleepless nights trying to figure out how to pay the bills. I actually hate money...but that may be because I don't have any.....
All of my adult life I have been employed and enjoyed the security of a weekly paycheck and health insurance. Happiness for me does not require wealth, but rather, the absense of anxiety. Security brings me happiness.
Two years ago I experienced a necessary divorce complete with the all the anxiety-producing effects inherent with the dissolution of a marriage. Two weeks later, the surprise of being laid off due to the economy leveled me. I remain unemployed. The loss of my job was a new experience for me and the length of my status becomes more difficult as time marches on. Feeling empathy for the homeless is far different than facing the possibility. With an autoimmune disease and no health insurance, survival becomes increasingly stressful. The expense of medical care for my canine companion is tenuous, with no help from the veterinary providers. Despite the fact that I contributed to The United Way and various animal rescue providers, I fall through the cracks for real help when the need arises, now, for the first time.
Despite lofty ideals and useless platitudes, without money, you don't eat, go without medical and dental care and, one by one, those things people spend a lifetime working to have, must go. The reality is that poverty creates desperation, can shorten lives and deplete even the most positive spirits.
Money does make a difference...less pressure from the world around you..and if you don't like what is happening, you can always go somewhere else...
If you own a car/truck that breaks down all the time..if you have money you can buy a new vehicle..rather be rich riding in my BMW than unhappy in a broken down piece of crap..

Can money buy happiness? It is not about the money in every marriage but you also can't live without the luxuries you deserve. Some married couples feel buying gifts for each other is the only way to keep a marriage together. Do you think buying something special for your partner on special...

What makes you happy?Although perhaps a cheesy question, if you search for it online you are likely to find "having a baby" or "getting married" but little else. These can be things that currently make you happy, things you think will make you happy one day if you get them,...

Can too much money make you unhappy? You hear some awful stories about people who win the lottery or who have lots of money but nothing seems to go right for them. While this may not apply to everyone with money,do you think if you had a lot of money it would make you unhappy?

Why do we equate happiness with money?

Recently, while talking to a friend, she ended a very long and detailed conversation with " i wish i was rich, then i would be happy" then laughed it off. But i started to think... Does money = happiness?I mean on one side you can say of course not. You could easily argue that not...
