Still no comments....what am I doing wrong?

   I've now published 8 hubs and the bicycling articles seem to have gotten the most views. Yet, I'm still at 0 comments. I've made my newest articles longer and more informative.
   
   Do any more experienced hubbers have advice?

      Hi Little house... not sure I can answer how to get more comments, but I just thought I would get in touch with you because I found a number of similarities between us. We are both web designers, both seems to live in the "burbs of LA" (I am in Orange County) and we both commute to work by cycling. I have posted a few hubs about biking. And a few others, but nothing on web-related topics yet.

         I checked out a couple of your hubs and you're right, we do have some things in common. However, I think your hubs are quite a bit more humorous than mine (that' a good thing!). Thanks for the comments. I'll keep checking back for more biking articles.

   Comments can be illusive sometimes.  I don't have too many my self.  However, if it is comments that you are after, there is really only one good way to get them.
   
   Most come from the Hubpages community.  That means that you need to be active by taking parts in the forums and commenting on others.  I will also and that your participation should be helpful and sincere, not just to have your name seen.
   
   Once you hubs get into google or you support them with back-links you will start to get comments from visitors outside of hubpages.  However, most people searching for information aren't always inclined to leave comments.  Some are though.  I have also found that some hubs just tend to draw more comments than others, be it their style, subject, or presentation.

   I got like 5 comments now... 2 of which are my own so I mean they are kinda far and few in between for me too but I don't mind. People are reading my pages. (Almost to a 400 views a day average) Thats all I care about, but comments are a big confidence booster I know what you mean.

   There's a few reasons why people will respond and leave feedback.
   
   1) They're excited. They've found what they've been looking for. It has filled the gap. But it must really make an impact to elicit that kind of response.
   
   2) It's controversial. A provocative viewpoint that gets the blood-boiling especially when a person is against the viewpoint, will often lead to an incredible amount of comments. You can get the 'fors' but don't expect them to say much until theirs a bit of action from the 'againsts'.
   
   3) Ask a question. Replace the Comments title with a thought provoking question. In your Bicycling in the Burbs hub you could simply ask "Where is your favorite place to cycle?".
   
   I'm sure there are other ways to get different types of people to respond.

   This question was asked many many times. The answer I've got is: try to interact and read lots of hubs. Leave a decent comment at the end of each hub and fan those hubbers of big interest to you. The last and the MOST important advise is: PATIENCE is a virtue.... You need to be patient bcz people will not read and approve your hubs overnight! Just keep writing and if you're good writer, readers will find you eventually. Good luck.

   little house, many of us are still new here and it takes time.
   I understand how you feel as I have a growing number of views but not so many comments.  We're like kids in a candy store~~ we want it all. I know I have so much to learn and I think by participating and reading lots of different kinds of writers and commenting on their hubs, it's a give and receive thing.
   
   Just keep writing for the joy of writing and link to other sites if you can.
